Wow, Nvidia have banned Hardware Unboxed from receiving review samples...

yep damage has potentially been done, Steve even mentions smaller/other reviewers contacting him worrying that they may be doing something to take them off Nvidia's list.
The message has been sent out.
Then you have to question the stability of their business model - if they rely on free, VIP access to products from the manufacturer then there is always a potential conflict of interest or the risk of being removed from that VIP list. Big businesses are not our friends let's just remember that.

Linus got involved and now Nvidia have reneged on everything they said about Hardware Unboxed.

Also, I would argue that Linus is the biggest tech YouTuber, however looking at the subscriber numbers, he has less than Marcus and Unbox Therapy, what the hell happened?

Actually the 5800xt doesn't exist, maybe just meant 3800xt. Also why the name calling?

Which is the point of my post, he obviously meant 5700xt and couldn't even get that right. As for the "name-calling", take a look at his post history and all will be revealed.

What would be brilliant is if all the big content creators eg linus GN Jay etc grouped together and boycotted reviewing the next nvidia card. It won't happen as they make too much off day 1 reviews

Okay but there no need to attack someone cause they mistakenly wrote the wrong product number down :/ and regardless of posts then name calling is daft though. Tbh his posts pretty much slated some of the new AMD gpu's when I saw them but each to own. Just seems out place for most part.

Hold up. Nvidia contacted them about their orginal DLSS video and were happy with the video. :D

It is a shame that it seems like the PR team wants to make it personnal. Some heads probably rolled this morning.

Indeed I would expect the person is known on whom wrote the email and didn't have any foresight to the damage it would create or similar. The person deserves to be removed from the PR team tbh if it was done as such for multiple reasons, context of the email, tone, the fact they signed off as someone more senior etc.

Lol at those who went out of their way to shill for NV, throwing their own rationality and critical thinking out the window in favour of defending their hardware and ludicrous man-crushes for a giant tech corp. This is what you get when you chilldishly side against your own interests. Congratulations, your overlord just crapped all over you.

Good to see Steve apologise /s :p

He doesn't quite get why HU was banned though, goes off on some long as tangent about unrelated reviews and benchmarks
Well yes if you watch enough HU you can see Steve does have a chip on his shoulder with Intel and Nvidia but so would I, much more so. What Intel and Nvidia have pulled over the last few years deserves ripping to shreds. Besides when AMD does well we all do well, that's something to be happy about. Nvidia never needed to pull anything like this since the 30 series sells itself.

This whole farce is based on the fact that Nvidia is worried that RTX isn't being pimped enough by hardware unboxed which itself is so dumb simply because I don't see thousands of 3080s on shelves waiting for buyers. In fact the opposite is true. People are not viewing reviews because they have a card on pre-order and who wants to watch a video of a card you are in a queue for? Ridiculous.

I guess AMD has them scared!

It's good to see so many gamers and reviewers unite in their support for Hardware Unboxed and making sure that Nvidia know this type of behavior is not acceptable.

Marcus and unbox therapy are geared more towards general tech while linus is a PC geek through and through.

Linus is far more knowledgable then the latter two

I wonder what would happen if when the next Nvidia card comes out, they just review it on day done but leave it in the box.

"Here's the new 3070Ti, in its box, its nice and heavy, and the box looks nice, but instead we're going to sit here and talk about something else" while the box is sat in front of them.

Then the day after launch, then they post the review...

Actually what I would do is show ONLY ray tracing results on the RTX range of cards and compare them to non-ray tracing cards in graphs. To me, the difference isn't THAT vast and no RTX card with Ray tracing on can beat rasterization speed on non-RTX cards. You want RTX extolled NVidia, here you go... ;-)

I do wonder if this "outburst" towards HU has something to do with the rumor that Nvidia will lose regulatory approval of arm. Thus will be denied to purchase arm.

If true the level of tension would be thick enough to cut with a butter knife.
:D

Haha lol no chance, you forget that all these big reviewers are businesses and are run as such!! No way are they not gonna release on launch day, gotta keep those clicks and views coming in for the monies!!

Yeha they run as a business, but in the grand scheme of things, would one days worth of clicks make much difference...

Its more the views, about 1 min in they put an advertisers product on for about 60 seconds. So the larger you are the more views you will get and therefore the more you can charge for that advertising space!

The traffic surge on release day is apparently HUGE and interest drops off very quickly, its a shame because if a good chunk of reliable reviews came out after release then their price perforate graphs could be based on real prices.
