Hey,

I currently have a level 70 Epic Shadow Priest, but want a second character just for a bit of variety.

Can anyone recommend me one? I mostly prefer PVE aspect of the game, so far I have a rogue I just got to 16, and not finding it to bad at all, and a warlock at 35, but I started that on horde, so would need to remake a new one because everyone I know is alliance :(

Anyways -

I don't mind a complex class, end game DPS is a must though. So far, I am thinking Rogue, FUry Warrior, Warlock... Anyone (who has a few of those classes) at level 70 want to give some perspective on end game raiding?

I don't really want to be in a situation with a class where all I need to do is press a "I pwn" button to do damage, Something like a shadow priest ATM (in terms of I need to keep an eye on dots/status effects). Warlock and Rogue seem kinda like that, with dot management and energy managment. But since they aren't even level 40, and haven't even seen the inside of kara with them, I would like a few suggestions.

Classes I could not be is almost certainly a hunter, not at all interested in shamans (I was, then I tried one for a few levels and thought "not so much") Druids, and possibly not palis.

O.o

I have a Dwarf Hunter - and it's so much fun :) I know you said you don't want it, but give it another go, and go beyond level 10 (When you get your pet). It starts getting better from there :)

I wouldn't write off druids - they're great fun to level with and give you real choices without suffering from being a "jack of all trades, master of none", like paladins tend to be. (I should say, I also have a 70 retri-paladin and can rival most other DPS classes but I'm a total billy-no-mates when it comes to raids).

nah dont make another caster if you have a S Priest tbh. make a warrior/rogue. everyone always needs tanks (its pretty easy), rogues are prob the best dps class

I'd stick with your rogue. Warlock is pretty similar to shadowpriest (ranged, caster, same gear to collect) whereas rogue will give you a totally different experience.

If you fancy trying warrior - there are enough warriors in pvp gear who think they can dps in a 5man pug, while the group has to wait an hour to find a tank. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem :D

After taking up 2 level 70's (mage and hunter) I decided to level a rogue, and he's great fun. Really really good and unique in playing style.

He's currently level 66 and I'm still not bored of him. :)

mages are fun - mines at 57 and i do enjoy playing him when i get time.

dont knock the druid either. major fun class and i'm getting invites all the time for tanking and only to a slighlty lesser degree to go heal somewhere.

so if you want on to level and then use for 5 mans etc you'll not be short of invites.

very fun to level as well (well as feral spec:)) - lots of variety - dps from kitty and stealth available is fun :)

I agree with the druid comments. Just leveled a druid, my 3rd character (also have 70 Priest & 70 Rogue) and would say its been the most fun class to level of the 3 i have done. The great thing is that i can play as PvE tank/dps and PvP all from the same feral spec, just need lots of alternative gear in my bags.

PvP wise the Rogue is still the best of my 3 but not had much experience with the druid in PvP so my opinion may change.

Warlocks are -awesome- fun. Especially once you hit 40 and go demonology spec. It's like having your own personal warrior following you around. Although the Voidwalker from lvl 10 to 40 is good too, it's not a patch on the fellguard. :)

I wouldn't roll a Warrior as they are almost nigh on inpossible to raid as Fury. I know guilds take Fury Warriors but that is usually 25-man.

I played a Warrior for best part of 3 years and can relate to 5-man groups hating on the DPS Warrior in Heroics. Basically, I had to respec at least once a week for PvE / PvP. I was spending a few hundred gold per month and carrying tons of alternative spec gear in my bags.

Rogue is my opinion as it is not a caster, the Warlock, Mage etc are all similar in certain retrospects to your Shadow Priest.

If you go Warrior expect to be forced to switch to tanking more than your willing too.

Oh and I think Shamans are awsome as DPS. Elemental and Enhance is very fun.

Quoted for truth :)

Love mine - for leveling this rocks :) then time to go full affliction spec when hit 70 for raids - thats my plan anyhow.

Druids are great fun got a 29 twink druid. Paladins are great to, healing or tanking.

Demo is awful, especially at such a low level!

Warlocks are good fun, but generally raiding warlocks will be destruction, so much more similar to a mage than a shadow priest.

Warlock. Hands down the most fun class imo. If you suddenly get bored and wish that you had rolled a mage, then simply respec to destruction and you'll blow them all away.

Having tried and dislike the rogue, like me, you're probably a caster at heart and don't try and pretend that a physical dmg dealing class will be a nice change, because it will bore you to tears!

Demo is not awful. At low level improved voidwalker helps tonnes with levelling, and later on having a felguard around is like having two extra DoTs (regular melee and cleave) that don't even cost you any mana or casting time. Demonic knowledge, soul link, master demonologist and even demonic aegis (with fel armor) are all invaluable.

Except that lifetapping is getting a hefty nerf in 2.4, hopefully removing the ability of Warlocks to be both PvP gods and with a quick respec, the highest damage dealing caster class in the game.

If the OP just wants to be highest damage dealer, the Rogue is the class for that. I'm pretty sure they are the benchmark that Blizzard use to balance other dps classes. No raid synergy, all the risks of being in melee range, but the most damage.

Yeap, I fully agree. A Rogue would be a good choice.

I'll be very surprised if that nerf makes it live atleast in its current state anyway as it actually makes lifetap worse the better your gear is.

warlocks are a great class, lots of fun to play too although they're on a steady downward spiral due to all the nerf calls.

as for second class to roll, i'd choose a rogue or feral druid.

although i never raid or play my druid much in pve so dont know if theyre wanted much as dps although they make decent tanks/offtanks and are a lot of fun atleast once you get cat form.

with all the stigma attached to warlocks i cant really recommend them so i guess my vote goes to a rogue , enjoy. mines at lvl 39 atm :p

(oh and demonology is a terrible levelling spec for warlocks :) )
