WP8.1

Just went to change SMS tone, but it's not there, have they relocated it? Or is it just missing in the preview?

Settings > Ringtones + Sounds > bottom manage app sounds.

Then change the Messaging option.

I've noticed, my 925 is always offering a hotspot.

Even when I'm using WiFi on the phone, the tethered hotspot appears on my list on my Windows 8 laptop.

If I connect to the hotspot, the Lumia turns on mobile data and instantly starts sharing its connection.

Not sure if this behaviour is new?

Did you turn on Internet Sharing? If so, did you want it turned on? If not, turn it off via "Settings -> Internet Sharing" to stop offering hotspot via your phone.

Just a heads up new version of Iplayer (with live tv but still no downloads) and ITV player has been released, if you are on US region you will need to revert back to UK to update/install.

Did that yesterday, all running smooth-ish.

Live TV was useful when I wanted to see the results of BGT whilst watching Netflix... Anyone with Cortana / US Region like me had to restart as meandu mentioned.

Indeed.

That's one of the reason I changed my region / language. For Cortana and Quiet time. Tested it using my missus phone, repeated phone more than the 2 times in 3min = phone ringing after 11pm for me. Can set 'favourite inner circle' allowed to phone in immediately too.

The phone clicks and alerts goes quiet between the time I set as well, along with specific days e.g. on Friday and Saturday, my quiet time is turned off.

Can also set it to automatically send replies that you're busy, great when you're in a meeting.

For Cortana, can you tell her to set a quiet time immediately for the next hour? If for example your boss drags you into an impromptu meeting, you can just tell her to shut everything up for a bit?

First time ever for any phone I've owned, my Nokia Satnav directions have been routed through my car audio system.

Might be my Fiat system is not great, but it was a surprise to get turn by turn over the speakers. :)

Not sure if it was a change in 8.1 or the fact I recently swapped to a 925.

I also admit I have the find my car function pinned to the start.

I find that irritating as hell, as it actually mutes what I am listening to multiple times. I would rather the option between speakers or the car.

To turn on quiet hours now
1.Press the Search button to go to Cortana, then tap Cortana's Notebook > Quiet hours.

2.Turn on Right now to turn on quiet hours immediately. It will stay on until you turn it off, or until any automatic rules you've set up kick in.

Unfortunately you can't do it via voice command, you'll need to tap a few options when in Cortana app.

I'm not really into the whole voice command thing because you usually have to repeat what you say at least once, by which point I'd usually have managed to type it out, but Cortana is fairly good. Shame she can't set timers, which was one of the main things I used voice on my Note for, great when cooking.

Still has a huge way to go though. This whole speak then wait then listen to response then wait then confirm thing is far too segmented. I still find myself saying yes to things before the program has readied itself for my response. When we get to Jarvis levels of interaction I'll probably start using it then.

Easy timer: "wake me up in 20 mins". Job done :)

An excellent work around which I'll definitely use, cheers. Another quick question whilst I'm here, holding the back button to bring up last used apps will often bring up multiple instances of the same app, like 4 IE tabs.. Is there a way to get this to only show entire apps? Sometimes I want to flick between say IE, WhatsApp, Baconit etc, but it's hit and miss what it shows.
