Cortana is rolling out in the UK? Yay.

Getting my 930 back from repair today so it will be nice to give it a try.

Phone back, no update to Cortana yet, which is a shame.

Took delivery of my Lumia 930 this lunch time from EE. Updated to Cortana straight away.

I presume its carrier related like most updates, I am with O2, so maybe they haven't approved it yet?

I thought I'd read that with windows 8 MS had taken full ownership of updates. I'll see if I can find a link.

I guess my budget 625 won't get it at all, but you can't expect everything with a £100 phone.

I've a cheaper 520 it's got every update so far. I'm on the developer preview though.

It's one of the best features of wp all the updates. Fed up of my droid phones being dropped off the updates schedule.

That's a bit different.

I expect they will drop the x2x models at some point but hopefully not for a while.

Microsoft support life cycle for WP8 is 36 months, so the x2x models should get updates for at least another year.

I had a 1520 for review in Feb, now I've been sent a 930 by Microsoft themselves, I have to admit they're making good progress with 8.1.

A few questions if I may?

The bacon looking symbol in the notification bar, what is it? (3 wavy lines) Searching tells me it's to do with my phone profile? How do I turn the icon off? How do I see what profile I have selected?

Also, is it me, or is it missing icons for some notifications? If I get a Whatsapp, it's there in the pull down, but not as an Icon before I pull it down?

Also, what Podcast app is best? The built in one wont even let me download a podcast (when not on Wifi) only stream it.

You don't turn it off. It means you have ring volume set to 0 and vibrate on.
Where bell with line through it means ring and vibrate are off.

To change ring volume just press the volume button and the bar will appear at the top off the phone, press the down arrow to expand.

Does anyone else use anything using Ports for like port forwarding.

I used to be able to remotely connect to my CCTV cameras and Raspberry Pi but since the last update, anything using a port times out, thing is a direct URL & also SSH client. Via WIFI works fine which proves the Port Forwarding is set up correctly.

I'm on EE

OS 8.10.14176.243
Firmware 3051.50009.1424.027

I can ping my ip address, add in the port and it just won't work. Use too.

Which port is it? Could be EE blocking if it works on wifi. Does it work ono someone elses wifi I am assuming.
