Wraith Stealth Cooler

Coolermaster usually has brand extra in price compared to old cheaper design with heat pipes spread out in base plate instead of forming continuous surface.
(Ryzen's chiplet is very small and would be best to have as many heatpipes as close to it as possible)
Vetroo seems to be standard budget design cooler with spread out heat pipes in base plate.

As alternative to look for Arctic Freezer 34 would have heat pipes forming continuous surface and used to be available at very good price.

It was worth trying the Wraith Stealth cooler, no harm done. The 5700x is an enthusiasts chip so doesn’t come with a cooler.

I am definitely going to buy a better cooler it’s just a case of which one.

even the better one, the wraith prism rgb is far from great, i think i was getting 76* ( if HWMONITOR is accurate ) when gaming on a 3600X and the fan was noisy going full blast. Really bugged me so i upgraded. Looks very nice though

The ID Cooling CPU cooler I’ve linked to above has a TDP of 180W much better than the 65 TDP of the Wraith Stealth. For £16.66 ex VAT it should do a much better job on the 5700x which has a TDP of 65 but goes higher than that when under load.

So it should be fine for the relatively low powered 5700x.

I think I’m going to remove the motherboard from the case to install the new CPU cooler as it was a major pain reinstalling my Wraith Stealth cooler because of the backplate that provides the screw in holes for the cooler to screw into.

Here is a video showing how to install the ID-COOLING SE-214-XT into an AM4 socket they do it with the motherboard outside the case…

There is a comment on there saying why are there empty holes in the motherboard when removing AMD stock cooler.

I had the same problem until I realized the backplate had dropped down behind the motherboard after I unscrewed the Wraith Stealth cooler and I found it when I removed the back side panel.

Do not fancy battling with it again it will be easier just removing the motherboard.

the white one has the 15% discount + 20% prime day discount
I see, I've got some bad news. Received the CPU cooler today but they've sent me the wrong one. They've sent me a ID-COOLING SE-914-XT-Basic CPU Cooler instead of the ID-COOLING SE-214-XT ARGB CPU Cooler.

Its an inferior cooler with 92mm fan and no RGB, I've already arranged a return and taken it to the post office. Ordered a DEEP COOL GAMMAXX GTE V2 WHITE instead as I have no confidence they can deliver another ID-COOLING SE-214-XT.

The DEEP COOL GAMMAXX GTE V2 WHITE was on special Prime day too, I nabbed it for £ 17.49 ex VAT.

Well I changed my mind and ordered the Vetroo V5 Black CPU Cooler after all, it’s £21.32 ex VAT but normally £27.50 ex VAT. Its got a good reputation as a budget cooler and at least I got prime day discount which I did not when I originally ordered the ID-COOLING SE-214-XT ARGB CPU Cooler.

Have no worries about getting what I paid for this time and it’s only £4.66 more than what I paid for the ID-COOLING SE-214-XT ARGB CPU Cooler.
