Wreckfest devs go bankrupt.

What the ****

Bought next car game ages ago and was waiting for it to be finished.

Also bought all the flat out games and thought they were popular so how can they be bankrupt?

Yeah, I sort of bit the bullet with this, as always looks promising but kerflump. Lesson learned.

^Not sure, they go back to games as far as 2001 so not sure if devs came and went or what happened.

Shame as it was shaping up well, tbh got my money's worth but want entirely unexpected after they cancelled the Kickstarter so last in the campaign.

My first, and probably now last, foray into the world of Early Access...

A real shame. We need a game like this was intended to be.

So what did they do with the $£million they took in the first week of being on steam ?

According to an unspecified source on wiki, they had 40 employees in 2007. I doubt they had that amount in January 2014, but assuming they did, it would cost £1,000,000+ in staff salaries per year, that's not including taxes, hardware, software licences, building rent etc. Not to mention "£1,000,000 in sales" probably doesn't factor in Valve's cut of 30%.

Ah i see.

Was shaping up to be a great game.

Personally, I would not want Codemasters anywhere near it.

Hopefully, original developers jump in to buy the assets?

Also, I would think if declared bankrupt, it would be illegal to still sell good, no?

Their website and Steam page are working fine.

Went to @KonsoliFIN and bought presents for kids at Children's Hospital. Should give smile! #givingback #charity

A creditor has applied to wind up the company. That doesn't necessarily mean they're bankrupt, simply that they have a debt that they aren't paying. They might not be paying because they cant' (so 'bankrupt') or the debt may be something they have contested.

It's not a positive, that's for sure, but it's not necessarily doomsday.
