Firstly never RMA, always DSR.

I would have ordered the 7970 and asked for a full refund on the prior order.

Whats the basics of DSR, 7 days usually and 14 with OCUK?

DSR says that you have 7 days to cancel a contract starting the day after the day that you received the item - it also has extra protections added to it that specify who is responsible for postage costs if the product is not as described or is faulty (they do)

a lot of retailers either try it on, or don't realise what the rules are so it is worth digging your heels in sometimes

i poped into a local store today and picked up a msi 7970, sending the 7950 back for refund after reading there feeback on auction site. i would avoid this retailer at all costs. best to stick with ocuk lesson learnt!

someone been trying to rip you off mate. gigabyte 7970 is way superior. anyways you can return it within 14 days for a full refund

How is it superior? The MSI is unlocked plus reference so water blockable.

Nice which msi 7970 did you get? OC version, Twin Frozr version or the lightning version?

Wasn't there a thread on here where something similar happened but they did send the more expensive card but then were chasing the buyer for the extra money
