WWDC 2015

Haven't watched all of it yet - just the bits relating to the Watch and Apple Pay. Looking forward to native Watch apps and chuffed to see my bank (First Direct) as one of the launch partners for Apple Pay.

I don't think that's a bad thing initially - let the technology get bedded in.

Contactless card payments are increasing in September but only up to £30 so it doesn't seem like that much of an issue.

Surely there the cap can just be lifted on all Apple Pay payments as it uses the fingerprint verification instead of a pin code? Apple pay doesn't work without it, so it's not like a contactless card payment where anyone can use it if you lose your phone.

Just read this post on MacRumous, definitely found the biggest news of the event!
When you use the shift key on the keyboard IT ACTUALLY CAPITALISES THE LETTERS ON THE KEYBOARD!!!!

http://www.macrumors.com/2015/06/08/ios-9-tidbits-and-hidden-features/

About freaking time, God the shift key on the keyboard has bothered me for years, not knowing if it's on or not.

The power saving features look good too. Detecting if your phone is face down and not turning the screen on for notifications, is a nice touch.

I get Spotify for free... full premium membership.

Don't care so much about the paid option... just hoping this doesn't kill the music on Spotify :(

All of the 10.11 features look like a waste of time... space fillers because they couldn't think of anything better to do.

If Apple Music has a ALC/WAV/FLAC option... THEN it will get me interested. **** MP3... it's only good enough for my car.

The multitasking on iPad is working well. Being able to swipe over and look at your emails or notes whilst in another screen is useful. Seem to have lost the ability to swipe forward in safari though because of it.

Mastercard and Visa Europe are supported. I'm not sure who issues cards for John Lewis.

The Partnership card is Mastercard if that wasn't clear, just didn't see them on the slide but it should have been obvious I guess (especially as my cousin is part of the Mastercard mobile payments team - wouldn't break his NDA to tell me when it was coming out here for months. :D)

Also unrelated, the ability to use the keyboard with two finger gestures so it acts like a trackpad for the cursor to highlight words etc is nice since it'll save having to jump up and down the screen. Also the News app seems to basically be an unsubtle Flipboard killer.

What's being suggested is that this will happen eventually as really a fingerprint is better than a PIN. But it seems initially it will be £20/£30 with Merchants opting in for the higher amounts at a later date.

I'd like to see it higher but until Contactless is everywhere you're going to have to carry at least one card anyway.

I don't get this as I was aware what month apple pay was coming to Uk back in Jan/Feb and wasn't under any NDA:confused:

I really don't think it was a bigger secret as people friends/family members knew:p

I have to say I am interested in the Apple Music, but I'm not ready to ditch my Spotify already. I will wait and see what the Apple Music is like with the free trial. For me I want to know what music they have on it. But tbh the most important thing to me is offline mode. I've not see any information at all about an offline mode for Apple Music and if there is not an offline mode.... then I will stick with Spotify as that is THE only reason I pay subscription to Spotify.

apparently music can be downloaded and stored on your idevice for offline mode, I read on another forum

I don't have spotify but I like the sound of applemusic but not sure how much I would actualy use it

Not everything on iTunes will be streamable.

This will be a deciding factor for me. If Apple are hiding the reality of loads of artists opting out of streaming then it's no better (worse maybe) than Spotify's catalogue.

I just want to know if The Beatles stuff will all be streamable!
