X-Factor Winner?!

True, Shayne Ward has done well with what he's been given.

As for Leona, maybe people should actually read at what she's been doing and more importantly, who she's been working with for 12 months before commenting.
Leona will be around even bigger next year, here AND in America.

Scotland are a powerful country. They got Michelle McManus to win ffs.
Leon didn't deserve it, he was terrible for 8 weeks, then sang okay for 1 and well for 1. Even singing 'well' he couldn't stay in tune for a whole song.
I have never had faith in the general public since the MM fiasco and this is no different. Rhydian is a brilliant singer who took risks and sang brilliantly in all 10 weeks, stupid really.

Talent contest my arse.

More impressive than that, Scotland managed to get the mcdonald bros to the last 3.

I personally think it was fixed for rhydian not to win so that Simon could really do what he wanted with him, and not be constrained by the shackles of the x factor win - he knows he will be a global success, he has a fantastic voice and i look forward to hearing him when he brings out his album.

I wonder how much of an urban myth the Scotland / Wales loyalty thing is.

We see it every now again in this kind of thing where the "Vote for the Scottish singer/actor/numpty/whatever, irrespective of his/her/it's talent" comes in to play in Scotland. He may be a talentless pillock, but he's OUR talentless pillock!

It's like footy - Scottish fans will cheer on Scotland first and then any team that's against England, irresepctive of how good they are.

Unfortunatly in England as far as I can tell the voting for this sort of thing is lead by 14 year old girls who seriously think the cute guy on telly would ask them to marry him if only they could meet him.

Maybe it's not true, but it does seem that the Scots are more often behind "one of their own" and if not will just not vote, whereas the English seem to have no sense of national pride for this kind of thing as such and just vote randomly.

Alternatively maybe the Scots (&Welsh?) have a chip on their shoulder and just vote for the Scottish (Welsh) option no matter what if it gets one over the English :D

Just wondering..

The only talented person they discovered at X-factor is Leona, the only person i've heard that can sing a Whitney Houston song and not only she doesn't murder the song but actually do it justice.

I can't stand the rest of them, none of the others can get pass the first few stages in American Idol, they are that bad.

They would have done that with Leona then as well?
More annoying is the fact Ray Quinn did the whole swing thing better than Leon, which is a shame.

I also quite liked the McDonald Bros., I thought they were better than Leon myself.

Leon was utter tripe, kareoke in a bar. Rhydian was pure talent and WILL be bigger and make more money, have more freedom and bigger numbers in his record deal and plus c'mon these shows are fixed do you HONESTLY think people would let the stupid uk public decide what they want... that would be lunacy.

I hate these shows, because a little bit of crap never quite flushes and then comes and bites you in the ass on the final episode.

Sometimes winning doesn't mean you're the best. And plus Rhydian didn't have a care in the world about loosing which means:

1. he already knew
2. he already has a record deal
3. he knows he's better
4. he's already made a fortune from the show

Opera style doesn't sell?
Someone best tell the Classical music market which continues to boom then :p.

It doesn't sell well compared to pop music - which is what shows like X-Factor specialise in. I don't think anyone seriously thinks operatic music doesn't sell at all.

Girls Aloud is the only successful thing to come out of these reality "lets bugger up the Christmas number 1" shows.

The rest just end up spiralling into the ex-singer junkyard. Good riddance.

Shayne Ward is an exceptional singer, and Rhydian is potentially awesome.

I don't watch X-Factor but i have seen/heard clips of Shayne Ward before fame and after..he's really not all that but he's easy to market - "hot" and so on.

Name an ugly person that has win..bearing in mind Michelle McMannus won to "prove a point".

I thought he was amazing. His ability is stunning when you consider he had never even been on the stage before, he looked like he had been doing it for decades. Always came across very well to, very professional.

He's had singing training, his hair is rather questionable - he seems to put a classical-operatic spin on every song (Read: His rendition of "Go West") and I just found him to be uncharismatic as a singer.

Sure he's a lovely person though.

Note: I do, however, think that X-Factor is utterly poor.

why do you watch it then?

Now that hes won Xfactor, he will probably make one song which will be a ripp off of a Big Hit from the 80s and then you will never hear from him again, lol, what a waste of programming and time and peoples money.
