x1900xt PSU requirements?

my board is the limitation, can;t get htt any more stable above 290. cpu i guess has lots more grunt in it since its at below stock volts and giving a 900mhz increase over stock speeds

and crysis at 1600x1200 on the x1900xt? you got to be joking? or are all ingame details turned down to the minimum settings?

I would'nt get some good earphones not just for 2 seconds, only runs full speed when you first turn your PC on, or reset it for about 2 seconds as said, you'll be putting them on and taking them straight off again.

Well you'll be ok until you play fear.. then it kicks into full speed mode
company of heroes causes it to speed up a bit as well.
Still gave me a reason to buy some expensive earphones so I'm happy.

my hiper must have been slightly older as it doesnt have a navtive 6pin plug.

yea im planning to use the vf-900cu on the x1900xt to quieten it up a bit.

the hiper type-r 480w psu i have is revision 3 and has a native pci-e 6 pin power plug on it. so far the psu has given me no problems in the [email protected] machine it came from. will see how it is with the x1900xt, but from reviews on other forums there seem to be a lot of people using these psu;s with x1900xt's and they don;t have any problems.

Erm, dude, if a top end card can't run that at 1600x1200 and high then its coded ****.

BF2 was said to be tough on Hardware and a 6800U wouldn't be able to run it at max.

Well 1600x1200 and 2xAA and 16xAF later it was fine...

well the main games i play are Dawn of War - Winter Assault and Age of Empires 3. the 7600gt i had ran DOW with all details at max but shadows on low at 1600x1200. age of empires 3 was a hard one and i had to run it at 1280x960 with all details at max but no AA to get decent framerates on my 7600gt.

how would the x1900xt handle these games?

Easily. a X1900XT is probably double the power.

It eats any game out now and Im sure it will eat every DX9 game from now until next year.

thats nice to hear, sounds like a made the right purchase. my 7900gs didn't even last 3 days. hope the ati cards don;t have the nvidia style reliability problems.

My antec NEO HE430Watt which came with the P150 has no problems powering my oced X1800XT and heavily overclocked 165 opteron

wonder if crysis will run at 1024x768 on the x1900xt??

that would look crap any how on a 21" monitor, anything below 1280x960 even on my 19" monitor looks crap, you need 1600 x1200 on a 21" monitor to look ok, even that is like running the same as me at 1280x960 on a 19" screen, i wont touch a game if i cant run at least 1280x960.
