X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

My supercomplex is now developing issues regarding docking.
Tedaldi M3/M4 trading ships are docking but never undocking.
I now appear to have 11 or so of them attached to my landing ports, and each hour the figure increases by one more ship.

I have plenty of stock, in fact so much the factories are taking a break, but these guys fly in and don't buy, just sit there.

Can i shift them on, or encourage them to actually purchase something?

Try changing the stations friend foe settings to make Telardi enemies, this should make the station kick them out. Remember to set it back when you are done.

Now 2 weeks later and thinks are progressing.
i finished the terran plot yesterday, but seem to have stumbled onto some form of issue.

When I am flying a vidar, pimped to max speed 128, supported by a cutlass (max speed 173) and the cutless is set to follow or to protect, anytime we travel under autopilot the max speed appears to be fixed at 97, not at close to the 128 I would expect of the ship I am piloting.

I haven't found this with any previous wings. Anyone aware of any bugs with speed? Or settings I have incorrectly stated?

You should be travelling at the speed of the slowest ship (the Vidar) you sure you dont have a freighter or something with orders to follow you or the cutlass?

Check your property menu for ships with follow or protect orders.

Shadez, it appeared a docked ship in one of th stations with orders of 'standby' was the culprit, and must have been tied to my cutlass in some way. Anyway, changing its orders to 'none' got my autopilot speed back.
Good shout indeed.

Glad to be of service :D

Now the real question is how a ship with standby orders effects the auto pilot?

Standby is a order that allows the ship to move about so all ships linked with him would be effected by his speed but how is he linked to you? Is he set as a wingman or part of a wing?

that a way of saying better flight physics but dumbed down economy?

Dont think they will dumb down the economy, its one of the big selling points of the game.

Flight physics are ok, not much work to do there. What i hope for is a vastly improved AI, that doesn't create wingmen you like to crash into you.

So, just bought this off GamersGate but now not sure if I want to add it to Steam or not.

If I decide to install a mod or two I'm guessing when it comes to reinstalling the game that Steam will not like the mods and want to download a clean copy of the game?

Are there any mods that are super-recommended for someone new to the X games or is playing vanilla the best start?
(have downloaded a beginners guide and will be looking through that later)

Cheers!

Steam has no problems with mods, you dont even need to download X3 again if you dont want to.

I've been a busy boy this week on X3 (between work and sleep of course) and managed to get a a nice little 1MJ shield complex up and running with 10+ stations on it :) I'm quite happy with it. I found a great video on how to use an advanced sat to help you place the stations which I'll post up when i get home for anyone interested.

Also started to change over my uni trader from Mercury ships to the Dolphin which can hold up to 14000 cargo (i think) however they are a little slower than the Mercury.

Have a look at the Minstral super Freighter its almost twice as fast as a dolphin and can carry even more.

The standard mistral is also very good can carry 4000 units at a speed of 130.
