X360 or PS3?

Don't put these two in the same league as each other. The PS3 is in a different ball park compared to the shoddily built 360 ! The only thing that is well built on the 360 is the controller. The rest is utter crap. The ps3 on the other hand is well built throughout.
No it's not. I had a go on my PS3 last night and was amazed at the cheap quality of the PS3 control pad, the feel and sound of the shoulder-triggers screams 'cheap'.

In terms of consoles the 360 is definitely the lesser of well built consoles, but as I haven't had a problem with mine I can't complain.

That's the first thing i thought about the PS3 pad, cheap, plastic, light. It'll be a better beast when they finally get some rumble in there hopefully, would then be able to patch older games to support the rumble feature? The 360 pad is very nice indeed.

Thing I don't like about the PS3 pad is the anolog sticks and the position of them. I think the position of them on the 360 pad is spot on.

PS3' d-pad is a lot better though.

Indeed, the 360 d-pad is very poor, perhaps someone will make a decent 360 style pad with sony type d-pad for PS3.

Yeah, it's an asbsolute shambles. Amazingly enough, the d-pad on the Steering Wheel is actually better than that on all 7 Xbox 360 controllers I have ever used.

PS3 has the best D-Pad.

I tried to download the newest update which it found, but got 5% through before dropping connection.

I've commented on just how bad BT are on my blog (if you fancy a read) so I was having problems all night. Eventually I couldn't even get back online to accept any requests.

I had a 29% connection when the router was about 20ft away. It's so bad :(.

No doubt, the 360 d-pad is awful. However, the SixAxis fails with its analogue sticks and their comparatively large dead zone - something that's been present since the very first DualShock! Sort it out Sony.

With fps, or something that demands precise analogue movement (Monkey Ball being a good example of something that played great on the GC, yet suffered on the PS2 due to its analogue sticks), i'll always pick an alternative to the PS3 if there is one. Haze - one of the fps i'm most looking forward to - will be purchased for the 360 simply because of this.

The PS3 controllers are so small they have to give you 2 to make up for their lack of useability.
I have even seen am item on a guy building a Sixaxis into an Xbox 360 Controller. The least playable item on the PS3 hasto be its bad DEAD controllers. Secondly at least the Xbox automatically switches to 5.1 when it is available through optical output and when it is switched off goes back to output through the TV. The PS3 on the other hand has to be told to do everything and has no comparable hardware module for sound module migration whatsoever.
I can also use my Xbox 360 controller on my PC games if I wish to. You have to have the newer version of the wireless controller to do this. the old originals won't cut it. But the wired ones come with the Windows software included.
The Sixaxis controller is OK if you are small and have dinky little hands and don't play games for more than 5 minutes at a time. If I could get my Xbox 360 controller working on my PS3 right now I'd be a happy man but because of it's poor Japanes design made for Japanese I can only say Sony sell the in China you may have better luck. Sony certainly have let us down on the controller front. I tried playing F1 CE using the tilt mode the other day and found it diabolical. Let's just agree sony are winging it on this one. There isn't even a half decent steering wheel out for it yet so I am very disapointed in that regard.
Nice if you want to watch Blu Ray movies on it though. I stil have my HD DVD add on I brought for my Premier and have now plugged it into my Elite and watch HD DVD and Blu Ray via the HDMI on either.
At the moment the PS3 stinks as far as its pixie Sixaxis controller goes. they need to improve on that before I trust Sony with my gamesware anytime in the near future.

360. I own both PS3 and 360.. No doubt 360 is a better games machine. If you want a media box that Games, build a cheap MC PC and use a 360 game pad on it. it really is that simple.

Good god the dead zone makes precision aiming horrendous on PS3 fps games!

PS3 has the best D-Pad.
Wii Classic controller has a better DPad :p

I will get when I have £20 to spare lol, I am a big fan of BF2 on pc so this should be good.

It depends if how much money you have.

If you have £500-600 you can get 3 X360's which will last you a couple of months, or you can pay for a PS3 and not worry about when it's gonna die.
