X79 Overclocking Guide

I think like 0208 or 0503 are best benching bios on this board.

I tried new but did not like.

The 0208 does allow a better OC for sure but iirc Raja said that the bios supply's more amps or something so may not nesessarily be a good thing for ambient cooling. Need to do a flashback/bios update as bios is corrupted again, always seems to knock out A1 dimm slot when pushing a bit to hard.

I'm running 4753MHz @ 1.350 vcore on my 4820k. but i think if i push it more vcore will need to rise a fair bit.

Mine draws 1.392v at 4824. With the 780 I used to go 1.4 @ 4999. However since I put the 295X2 on the system and clean up the BIOS, I cannot get even to 4900 with 1.4

(but I will try to sort it out this weekend).

I've just joined the x79 gang but am having some trouble getting my 4x4Gb Samsung Greens working. 8 Pack if you can remember that far back can you give me a hand please mate?

i know they'll do 2133 with tight first and 2nd timings because they did it in my 2700k/MVG but i can't even get my Rampage IV Formula to post with them at 2133 and their original slack timings.

I've run 1.6 volts through them (my 2700k system only needed 1.57) and had the VTT/VCCSA both at 1.15 volts but i keep getting a 4F debug code (which apprently means dxe ipl has started), followed by 3 short beeps.

My CPU is currently running at 4.4 with + 0.1 offset volts and LLC on Medium, 100 BCLK.

I'm also running the latest bios.

Oh one other thing i occasionally get something flash up on post about pxe boot - should i be worried? (i'm sure i have pxe boot options turned off in the bios)

Can anyone help??

can someone tell me safe volts for the VCCSA and VTT? Raja on the ROG forums seems to think 1.4 is safe for one of them but that can't be right can it?

Really want to get this RAM working at 2133...can anyone help?

Hi 8pack my overclock on memory has just failed all of a sudden I was at 2133mhz with 11-11-11-27 2t timing's voltage at 1.605v it passed several hours before so dont know why but its just gone bad all of a sudden failed memtest within 10 secs of starting so I panicked thought ram had gone bad but I tested at 1866mhz stock with stock v1.5 stock timings of 9-10-9-27 2t and it passed no problems also same at 1333mhz timings 9-9-9-24 2t stock volts passed no problems could it be voltage increase needed maybe for 2133mhz mate ? Cheers crasher im now back at 1866mhz stable for now till you get bk to me
