Xbox 360: Keyboard and Mouse adapter for Fps games?

With the impending release of MW2 and the lack of Dedi support for the pc crowd I'm bending towards buyin it for the 360 so I can play on xbl with friends.

Due to my history playin games with mouse and keyboard I have a tendancy to struggle with controllers on FPS games..
I know there are adapters out there but has anyone used one with COD4 and are there any lagging problems?

there are a couple of adapters that enables mouse/kb but from what i read they arent very good (was a while ago so may have got better since). I think they suffered with lag and deadspots (due to joypads analogue function). there was some methods for tweaking them that gave better results but after reading loads I decided to give up on the idea due to the extra cost and hassle

reviews I read at the time were hit and miss

a quick google should yield a few results, the 2 models out are the xfps v3 sniper and the max shooter 2, 40-75 quid is about the best prices I found

Just get better with the pad, otherwise you are making it an un-even playing field for other players.

I've heard that there are not going to be any dedicated servers for MW2, and party chat is going to be disabled on the 360, not sure how true this is but it's from an avid gamer who was looking forward to its impending release, but isn't now, so how true it is i don't know.

I'd also be interested in a mouse keyboard connector because i can't aim for toffee with an analogue stick

xim360 is best bet, im currently looking into one but its looking like it could cost £100+. Look in the community section for lots of feedback and videos of it in action. It's as close as you will get to keyboard and mouse feel on the PC.

I don't really mind the price tbh.. I just wanna play with my mates on xbl in the same way I would steam. Gonna check those out when I get in from work. I've tried to hone my controller skills but I'm low + at best lol

That xim360 looks like you would destroy everybody, they say it's virtually as good as having a mouse and keyboard. It's a bit harsh on the others playing don't you think?

They could just release an official set I suppose and have seperate servers, at least it would keep it fair.

I just prefer kb and mouse. I don't wanna spoil peoples games I just wanna have the most enjoyable experience possible. I'm even buying a desk and chair just forthis and l4d2 lol

I know it’s expensive and I know it would lessen others peoples enjoyment of games but i really am tempted by one of the xim units. I just don’t feel I’m getting anywhere near the enjoyment I should out of my xbox with the pad, i end up rage quitting online most of the time because I get so frustrated with the lack of control.

I came across a few people on Cod WAW who had rapid-fire controllers, my first thought was "you cheating gits".

My second thought was "you ******* cheating gits".

The problem with these converters is that the games aren't made for the Keyboard/mouse so there is analog smoothing and deadzones etc which make games pretty unplayable with a mouse

It looks impossible to get one if the xims.. I can't find them anywhere.. However the snipers are available so I might get one. I don't class it as cheating but I feel the same as above.. I'd get more enjoyment from games even in sp mode. When I get one I'll five a quick review

Indeed, imo this is just as bad as using aimbots or any other hacks. Deliberately using means other than those intended by the game developers to try and get an advantage over the competition.

I wouldnt consider this any more cheating than racing against someone with a steering wheel, while you use a pad.

If it was a superior method of game play wouldnt MS be making keyboard/mouse functionality :confused:

Well no because MS officially support steering wheels, the whole reason that MS don't support M+K is they want a level playing field. Steering wheels offers nowhere near the advantage over pads that M+K does over pads.
