Xbox 360 Lian Li case - installed with pics !

Not pointless at all.

Why is it so many people feel that just because 'they' don't like something, no-one else should either?

To be pointless the case would have to look far worse than the original it replaces (subjective), make more noise than the original (which it doesn't) and actually impede cooling (which it doesn't). It is not pointless in the slightest.

No, I like how it looks, but its still pointless.

I have mine to do also... I noticed a few things.. There is a funky xclamp type replacement thingy that will have to have the rivets removed to get rid of it... I think there should be enough room for the heads of the machine screws but want to make sure. I also noticed that there is a tiny bit of acoustic foam by the optical drive but i am gonna do most the case as i have loads of offcuts at work. And goign to replace the fan with an Akasa Amber fan as well...

Love it or hate it is personal opinion... I like it in comparison to the original but i will admit i could have designed a much sleeker version ... ;)

You are aware that the case design has absolutely nothing to do with the 360's faults, yes?
The case design has a fair part to play with the 360's faults imo. Bad airflow is a huge cause for overheating in PC's, so the same would apply to consoles. The Lian Li case looks like it has superb airflow so should drastically reduce overheating and therefore the chances of a RROD.

Seems like a worthwhile investment to me, especially if you have a launch day console and are worried about the 3 year warranty running out anytime soon!

It's what you insinuated by assuming that people who have posted saying they don't like it are jealous, is it not?

No its not. You can tell by the tone whether someone genuinly dosent like it or whether they are just being objectionable for other reasons, which could be put down to jealousy.

Drexels two response hitting a raw nerve, dont worry mate, save a few extra weeks pocket money and you could own it. :P

The RROD has little to do with case air flow problems, it's more to do with inherant design flaws of the original motherboard, hence the fact that the latest consoles are proving much more reliable, despite the case design being identical.

It's not really an investment, it costs almost as much as a new console, and I would rather buy a new console than replace the case with this monstrosity.

Tone is incredibly difficult to pick up in the written word though. It's more than likely that you interpret it in a different way to what was meant by the author.

There's enough people on this forum who have trouble with basic spelling, grammar and punctuation let alone conveying accurately their tone in a written sentence.

Pocket money? That's too funny, I'm 32 years old and married with kids and a mortgage :D

It hasn't hit a 'raw nerve', I just find it ridiculous when people say 'OMG you must be jealous' when people, shock horror, have an opinion and different taste.
