I really don't know how to look at this poll. On the one hand 17.76% appears shockingly high, on the other hand from reading the forums the last few weeks I wouldn't have been suprised if the figure had been substantially higher.

Sony fans, or MS anti-fans, can raise their '360 doesn't work' flag, and justifiably so; except I can't get it out of my head that all those that failed were replaced absolutely free of charge soon after malfunctioning, and the user soon carried on his/her next gen gaming fun.

Quantatively it's quite a small sample and imo it doesn't really prove much. I still think a qualatative poll on overall 360 experience is more meaningful.

Anyway, damn statistics. Lol statistically it's just as easy to argue that MS have proven (82.24%) they can make a working console. Also statistically it's not 17.76% have failed all of the time. Mine was out of my hands for a week; as was probably everyone elses that failed so in the, what 10 weeks we've had them they've failed 10% of the time; so adjust the poll by time and it comes down to 1.776% of 360s have failed on us since we got 'em.

I could go on but the 25% of beer in my can is getting warm...

mine was made: 1/9/05

Well i voted no.

Premium bought release day from HMV.
But think i am getting a fault with blacking screen, that or its the cable, i aint taking bets.
19% is probably quite accurate, because even if folk do vote yes because they are anti MS, i think it will balance out because there are a few folk on here who are on there 3rd. I would have thought it might have been a bit higher due to some people voting its borked just for fun, but although some of the arguements here with the consoles can get quite heated, it just goes to show its not petty.
So i guess it all depends if MS are happy with a fifth of there consoles breaking, i still dont believe the 'we are below industry standards for breakdowns' thats up there with 'all games will be made to use the min spec of the machine i.e. no HDD required'

Jumpurs, what do you mean blacking screen? Screen will just go black at random for a second or two? If so that started happening to me last week.

Has been days in between it happening but I'm starting to get worried, last time it happened was yesterday once and hasn't done it again, yet.

Still less than 1 in 5 which seems less than had been made out by certain forum users.

Are my ears burning? :D I think I said a while back that the failure rate seemed to be 20-25% - you could probably find my post with a search. I don't know if you were thinking of me :)

Mine died after about 5 secs, long enough to get to the language select screen... All sorted now though :D

edit: Purchased mine on the 22nd Dec by the way.

Im very interested to see how this is gona pan out, if ppl are getting machines on release that are going down now, then in a couple of months were gona find out if the ppl like me who bought em in January are going to have problems also, as some of them are going down after a couple of months, so if it was just the first lot that were iffy, then were going to find out one way or the other.

36 now, also wonder what it will be like when we hit the Summer, if they are going down because of heat issues etc..., then if we get a good hot Summer, well thats it, they'll all go **** up.
