Also, it wouldn't necessarily give everyone something to player for.. if you split the current league standings in 2, Adz and Spud are way ahead of the rest. Wouldn't the situation be the same for those below them?

What about, if you made it so that whoever comes last in the lower division gets permanently eliminated. Then everyone really would have something to play for :D

i do like the idea of embarrassment for the loser though 80% chance would be me

I have already thought about having 2 divisions however the reason why I left it was because the best thing I feel about the league is regardless of skill level, everyone gets to play everyone. Before I invited omh, distorted, drsk and others, I was finishing top 2/3 just behind art and rav but I think we all prefer playing opponents of a higher skill level so we can learn/improve and I am enjoying it more now even though I am barely making the top half! If you guys want though I am more then happy to dominate division 2 :p

Seriously though if people are up for the idea, it could work. What I was thinking instead for the next one was, top 8 go to playoffs as I was expecting more people to join. DrSK said his mate wants to join and OMH if you have afew guys who play regular, get them in. :) We do need something to motivate those in the bottom half I suppose, or at least not to finish last...?

Personally, it's so easy for me to run this since we have such a good SF community here. Not one complaint of lag, no one arguing about their match, no one trying to blag results. Thats what makes it work so well so thanks guys and a special thanks to Art who slaved away making a new program which will now make future leagues EVEN EASIER to run.

If you have any mates who play regular, and you can vouch for them, they are all welcome.

Now can we see some videos of todays games......!

can't really learn anything if you get raped within 30 seconds in 2 rounds

just saying we do have a massive gap between the top and bottom and without gradually level up, there are no way in beating them in a 2 out of 3 matches

Not beating them no, but taking a game? Every game counts in this. :) I could never play against Blanka and at one time took a 10-0 thrashing from someone and I learnt more in that then I ever could have playing against Blanka's who were just abit better then me.

When I started this league, I literally as you put it 'got raped' by Distorted, OMH, Zid but now I genuinely feel that I could beat them. It's still massively in their favour but I know I have a good chance.

Do people feel that first to 3 is a good enough set? Too short? Too long?

Looool. Just play ranked matches fo a while, then ul get familiar with ur character and ul slowly improve as u get used to ppls styles.

I got a few that will join:
Meansfgamer ryu or guile
Kungfoo1 bison
Fists of legend ryu
Controlled wrath balrog (but if he lags, he gets deleted and sent death threats)

I gues we can invite mates who add character variety cos shoto will never be in short supply. Where did all the sagats go???????????????
 
Read ravs idea, good but tricky to arrange times as ppl mentioned. You could start a league over a defined period (3 months or whatever) exactlylike football. So 20 players, you can only challenge a person who is maximum of 2 places above you, if u beat him u take his place in the league and h e moves down. Obviously you can't have ppl challenging number 1 player hundreds of times til they beat them, so ppl can reject challenges. Say each person much have completed at least 40 fights by the end of the league.

I think ideas will work better if we give time periods (I.e 3 months to complete this tourney) rather than specific (I.e every Wednesday). I think that's gavsgarden dude started his event at 8am and sum teams did not show up.

Overall excellent tournament, good sportsmanship by all. I'm up for any future stuff u guys do. Peace.
 
Singh-X uses Sagat, or he did a lot against me! Give him a shout DrSK. :) Everyone I initially invited for this league joined except for 'GodlikeSpeed' who was a really good Cody player. I don't intend on inviting anymore people now, it will just be friends of those already participating.

Kreeeee, I don't think numbers will be a problem. It will simply mean the league will run for longer. I hope you will join the next one with Deejay, he has come leaps and bounds since I played you months ago.

Plus, it seems the league is catching on... Gavsgarden have a 'league' coming soon too ;)

EDIT: The only thing that would make this even better is if the PS3 players came over. Chris[BEANS], Cavallino, Streeteh, Rainiac, Ojste, tony888 and co! Get a 360 guys. :p

Lol adz I was chatting to him during the fight, I think he was winning one of the matches and then u made a comeback, so he decided he had to beat u with sagat at least once. He was upset when u left the lobby lol. Il try to get him on board, also ri7w4an and soofz
