But in the mean time PC graphics will advance more than 360 graphics will.Boogle said:Its not flawed - the X360 has a 5 year lifespan. If you didn't upgrade a top-end PC for 5 years...
As VIRII said he was getting an HDTV anyway so that wasn't an extra cost for him. The same goes for a PC. I know that I would definately always want a decent PC regardless of any consoles I own. Maybe someone might need a high-end PC for their job. My point is you can't say for sure that playing games on a 360 is cheaper than playing games on a PC. It depends on your circumstances.my PC could probably handle GOW too, but then again i paid £350 just for my graphics card, then theres x amount on CPU/Motherboard, all adds up, yet the 360 is only £210-280, so if his PC already could cope with GOW then thats not the point, as he probably would have spent way more than the price of a 360 to get it like that.
As will poorly coded sluggish game engines, which is where a fixed hardware set comes into it's own. You can have the best gpu on the planet but when you've got something running sluggish, it's of no use. With the advent of HDR and Cinematic crap around the corner I'm just I left the pc gaming scene tbh.Psyk said:But in the mean time PC graphics will advance more than 360 graphics will.

And looking at current release schedules, there's still games coming out for it so it's hardly retired just yet.Tried&Tested said:Xbox was released in 2001..and still going strong in my books; in fact some of its greatest games came out in the last year. So that's five years and counting.

MS were desperate to get their next gen console out before PS3, so they had to get the 360 out asap hence the shorter than usual life of the xbox, not that it's dead, but you know what i mean!
JUMPURS said:Yeah i know what you mean but to be honest i think we will see another xbox well within this decade.
I think consumers are demanding more. On the IGN review they said oblivion looked probably slightly better on a high end PC than on a 360. We all are pretty much certain the PS3 will be around level with the 360. So gone are the days when a high end PC is trumphed by a console.
Also nowadays 280 quid is nothing compaired to what it was years ago during the PSOne era and even the original xbox launch (which launched at 300). So people are more likely to be willing to shell out (technically £220) every 3 years than thousands on PC's. And i think MS, Sony and Nintendo will know this also.
I am also interested to see how long support for the original xbox will continue as the PSOne was still going 3/4 years after the PS2, so i am interested to see how it all pans out.
