**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I don't get the issue with targeted marketing. Take the Gametrailers footage, how many times did we have to watch that ******* MMA advert? I'd much rather see an ad for The Last of Us or something I'm actually interested in.

Dont think I said it was a negative neither?

I personally think that once you see the bigger picture especially with TV plugged into it and Kinect on, thats some very useful, valuable information there

Sell 70million of them worldwide and have the ability to delve into all that data, well FB ads will look like unsolicited flyers. People think Sonys the competition, I think MS have already disregarded them and are battling entities not involved with gaming at all.

They are very much looking at this like Google would. Its fascinating...

EDIT: I must come over as a wierdo, Im procrastinating! :(

ps3ud0

Im a big XBOX and MS fan, ill happily admit that, but I just cant get past some of the decisions they have made on this, and even if they where to fully backtrack on a lot of this stuff, I still find it hard to fathom just what their thinking was for most of this.
I still cant work out the official reasoning for the 24hour check in requirement, and from actively blocking legal owners of their games if they don't "clock in". I know my machine will be connected 24/7, but I just don't get it, and I don't really like the thought of it. Or addressing what if your away for a few days or just don't play for a few days. How in the name of blue hell can you make these kind of "restrictions" and not have a fully released document detailing EVERY aspect of what can and cant be done with this imposed!?

Kinect stuff I can live with and maybe fine useful after getting used to the weirdness of talking alone in my room to my machine.

However im an extreme casual gamer ( buy me BF4 and thats pretty much me).

Ill add im not trying to have a dig for the sake of it, its just what I have got and read so far, so some of my points may have been clarified since what I have read about/ or gotten wrong.

Still couldn't bring myself to pre-ordering the PS4 even though it's much cheaper, I've always been use to the 360 and LIVE and the controllers are much better. Previously owned both the 360 and PS3 but only played on the PS for the exclusives like Uncharted, all the other multi platform games I played on the 360.

This time around I went for Xbox again, having to be online doesn't bother me and neither does all the other stuff. November can't come soon enough.

If the 24hr check in is not an automatic thing, then your system will get locked. However as you weren't playing it, I dont see the issue. As soon as you turn on the Xbox One I would assume the verification will happen (maybe when you log into Xbox Live) and you will have access to all features?

I would imagine that's how it works, but I still don't understand why its SO necessary to have it at all!

Also, its annoying, as I absolutely abhor the PS controllers, they are just god awful IMO.

MS have already stated the Kinect settings can be changed so it isnt listening for "Xbox on".

From what i've read, you can have total control on what Kinect is watching\listening for, just by turning it off.

The Kinect issue is a non-factor in my opinion.

You can turn it off in settings but can't unplug it without making the Box stop working.

Yeah.

Might want to google MS and Prism.
