Maybe so but they renewed mine this month, FYI the way it works is you have to "join the family" on the master console and the "daddy" as I call it gets control over MS points and can lock down the 3 "children"... all of which annoys my wife allot. I have a friend who is my child on there cause I had space in the 4 paid accounts, but he had to give mea ll his passwords etc so it has to be someone you really trust, not a random interneter.

I think it's new accounts that they're not accepting any more, though I'm a little surprised they're still renewing current accounts.
 
Hi folks, has anyone found a pic of the external power supply?

I am a little disappointed they haven't managed to fit this in the already large box, the PS4 power supply is internal and the unit itself is considerably smaller.

I guess they left it external for cooling / noise reasons?

Sounds like MS getting themselves into trouble, PS4 were on dev kits, and made no big deal and didn't LIE about it. MS actually lie, pretend the console is completely ready(absolutely no reason there should be) and then get caught in a lie and act like corporate a-holes trying to pretect their lie. Its pathetic, almost every E3 with an unreleased console uses a dev kit or PC, its normal, its only when you start lying about it you make a problem. MS and making problems for themselves, nothing, absolutely nothing done so far has been anything but their own fault.

Even worse is with every hilarious mistep they push customers, reporters and dev's towards Sony, who really haven't done an awful lot great with the PS4 except not make all the screw ups. Their biggest applauses and biggest triumps in their E3 presentation were entirely generated by MS. If MS allowed you to sell games as usual, do you think the PS4 presentation line of "you'll still be allowed to buy and sell games" would have gotten a minute long applause or won over so many gamers? They are hurting themselves, creating media crap storms, AND providing huge wins for their opponents.

It does in my mind somewhat come across as proving the rumours that the X1 is/was way behind the PS4 and is being rushed to market, and their insistence everything was on final working consoles is because they feared PS4 would be the same and they wouldn't and that is what they were scared of.
 
Any news on whats in the box?

I saw a image of the new headset (wired one) and it inferred that you didn't get one with the console. Now i want a wireless mic again (which i havent seen yet) so im not keen on having to buy a wired one in the mean time.

I also dont want to use kinect for in game coms with me shouting at the TV and some loverly echos.
Coms belongs on a headset so my wife doesnt have to hear some racist american teenage screaming on the TV.

Read that the headset is not included.
I believe what you get is Xbox One console, Controller, Kinect and HDMI cable.
 
Thats annoying, the old ones were crap but they were free.
Any news on the wireless ones or any other addons? I saw a play and charge kit and the headset so far.
 
I'll personally wait until release to buy something like a headset. It's not an essential and will likely be fairly easy to pick up when the console is released. Wait a few weeks and it'll probably be a bit cheaper as well.
 
Has anything been said about cross platform (360 to X1 and vice versa) being able to play together?

So say I get Ghosts on the 360 could I play with people on my friends list who have an X1?

Doesnt that potentially infer that the X1 game is just a GFX update of the 360 one? Or that the engine mechanism improves are incidental?

I dno about COD, but with FIFA we are expecting a new engine specific to the next-gen arent we? Wouldnt the game have to go back to the current gen engine mechanics if you ended up playing X1 vs 360 or PS4 vs PS3?

Is it wrong to assume from the off that those platforms for gaming are all seperate, its what I did :o

No but I don't see why not (pretty sure 360 and Xbox could play cross platform for Backwards compatible titles for example?)

Providing it's just a graphical update of course.

Thinking about it probably not, might cause issues :p
 
Nothing has been said about it but to be honest I'll be surprised if you could play cross-platform between a 360 and XB1, just doesn't seem like something they would build in (and it could potentially take a fair bit of developer work to get working for each title).
 
Didnt one of the Microsoft people make some quip about "backwards compatibility is just backwards"

I'd be very suprised.

no

Fundamentally different architectures so cross platform play is never going to happen. Plus as already said you'd need to have the environment sync'd across both which won't happen without effectively porting an xbox 360 game to the XB1.
