**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Shadowrun, that worked well.......

Its doable, but I don't think it will happen it wouldn't sell xbox ones would it.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOSH...

The point is that having different architectures does not mean you cannot have cross platform play, not that you should have it.

No Woosh I understand what your saying but the examples i can think of off the top of my head havent been overly sucessful with consoles.

Only thing that I can think of that kinda was are MMOs like WoW or steamplay for some PC/MAC games portal and left4dead can be played PC/MAC cant they?

Article about the military who are rightly annoyed about the usage restrictions

I was thinking if it keeps them away from the Xbone with their crap Internet connections, that can only be a good thing. Games hosted by military players on site always have bad lag. LOL.

Thing is, if they allow the military to use the device without an internet connection, you can bet that solution will find its way outside the military some how

Then you have half the xbox population gaming offline legitimately and the publishers can no longer be sure what those gamers have done with their licenses.

This means publishers aren't going to be agreeing to stuff like letting us share our games with family members. It simply won't work without ensuring everybody adheres to the same rules.

There's been one small rumour that would allow the Xbox One to always be able to play a game if the disc is in he drive ala 360. If they did this it wouldn't half alleviate a lot of the criticism.

I've heard that myself, and it really baffles me why the system still isn't in place already.

The Disk as a "dongle type" access control is a pretty good idea but I'm guessing its down the the ability to crack that system rather then it all being serverside. The DVD drive on the 360 barely lasted 6 months as a security gate.

That would be a nice compromise and would help the military too. Would represent a massive step back from Microsofts digital dream though.

But they may need a transition phase where they have both.

It wouldn't be a massive step back, it's still entirely digital but it let's people authorize with the disc instead of the internet if they choose to.

They'll lose out on a lot of the cloud stuff though.

So I can install the game and use the CD key on my console and give/sell my disc to someone else? Awesome, free games :)

That can't be right.

Here's what the £40 headset looks like!
