so can this ALL in one entertainment system play .mkv or .flac
Don't think so, they specifically mentioned offloading additional compute power to the cloud. Something like Physix would be a good example of a technology that could utilise that sort of massive parallel extra compute power. Shame they didn't add more detail though. Are they going to be used in the same way that SimCity is using at the moment?
The thing I got from watching it the 2nd time around was that there was no enthusiasm, the guy at the PS4 event who talked about the system and the controller was wierd but you got a genuine sense of enthusiasm from him and he seemed proud of the system.

Mark Cerny is awesome and has been in the industry for a long time and clearly loves gaming. Having programmed for the Atari and having been involved in the development of almost all of Sony's top games (Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank) it's no wonder he was proud to show off the console he's helped design!
Wired pads? They'll only be available to third world countries in the cut down model called the Xbox Poverty
People forget that games console are dead in the water, this isn't the 80's or 90's anymore, you can buy games on your phones and tablets, they are cheap as chips (cheaper than chips at my chippie! 69p for a game?!) and time passes by just the same.
People want an "entertainment system", they want to watch movies, surf and do more than just games. The PS3 and 360 already does that, this is now just more of it. It has been going that way for the last decade so you shouldn't be shocked really, it should be expected.
What you want to be concerned about is that, apart from all that, what are the games like? But that question no one can answer until it is released for a while. So moaning ab out all the features right now is rather pointless. Lets just see how the whole thing unfold.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

I've yet to find a game (since Game Dev Story) that I have played on a mobile device for more than 5 days that doesn't bore me senseless.

Well that just says more about the type of gamer you are. I am perfectly happy playing Plants vs Zombies, Anomaly, GTA, etc. on my iPad.
