**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

The big players will be getting far more stock allocation, and in the event of a shortage OcUK are less likely to get any at.

Got an email explain how my Family Gold was getting converted to individual accounts with a free extra 3 months on it.

While Home Live would be a good idea if you have one box, with 2 or more its going to be an issue, as I only need 2 logged on at once its not going to be too bad (basically the same cost as family) but it with luck my current live will last till at least when I buy another xbox one as its got about a year left on it with that extra 3 free months..

Yeah hes a decent chap :)

Have you pre ordered a next gen system mate?
Yup, Xbox One for me, predominantly for Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5. I'll undoubtedly pick up a PS4, but it won't be till next year at some point. I'll give it some time and let the price drop, and then I'll have a great back catalogue to work through (especially looking forward to Infamous: Second Son).

Well at least I'll know one other person with an Xbox One on the release date!

Up for some Co-Op on DR3? :)

Not sure if you've heard this, but I received an email from Xbox saying that they're going to be using currency for purchases on Live.

I much prefer :)

Yeah, this was announced a little while ago, but is still one of the best things MS have done with the XB brand for ages. I really hate it when you have to buy a 3rd party currency to purchase games. Always put me off buying things on XBL if they were available elsewhere.

I always found it as a bit of a cover up to the actual prices.

Hopefully with ms having to listen to their customers, we can keep getting things we want!

"Listening" to customers is very subjective though, apparently they listened to the feedback and brought back the start button, but all it did was take you back to the metro interface! :p

At least I can put up with Metro on a console though :p

Oh agreed, I'm not against the way that they tried to develop Windows 8, but by making it how it was, using mouse and keyboard as the input device isn't massively intuitive.

But as soon as you put Metro on something that has touch controls or gesture control (Kinect) it really comes in to it's own.

Sorry if any of the above came across as MS bashing, wasn't meant to. Think I'm always just slightly pessimistic regarding MS practices lately!

I like a good moan myself, but I do agree with anyone who complains about Metro for a desktop. I'd rather have Windows 7 made more efficient, keeping this stuff for tablets & consoles. (But I am still not a fan of a windows laptop, maybe because they keep thinking they need a touch screen on them?)

Absolutely. I'm not sure which game I'll be playing first, but DR3 is a definite possibility.

Anyone else expecting something big from MS at Gamescom this month? They have their conference before Sony, and considering the way that backfired at E3, I'm expecting something special from them to try to claim back more ground. They've gone some way already with the changes they've made, but I still think they've got something up their sleeve. I wouldn't be surprised if their conference was full of awesome game footage which makes everyone want an Xbox One, then at the end they announce a price drop or something like that. Here's hoping anyway!

I'm wishing for a price drop tbh, if they can bring it down to the same price as the PS4 it'll make me a happy camper.

I'm not too sure, I think they'll push titanfall a lot at gamescom, but I'm thinking that Sony might have some stuff to pull out too, I still think Sony are deliberately not announcing their release date so they can 1up MS on this front too.

But we'll see how Gamescom goes, it could be very exciting, oh and as long as they show off more of the division I'll be happy. :)

I don't think it'll be that much of a decrease, but if they can drop the Xbox by £50 or so, the extra £30 it'll cost over the PS4 will be much less of an issue I think, as people would be more inclined to give the new Kinect a chance for £30.

I'd like to see The Division as well, but as it's still not due for at least another year, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a no show.
