**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I do find the start of this gen quite funny (not just this forum), all the old 360 fans from the last gen used to take great pleasure talking about how expensive the PS3 was, how bad many of the ports are, huge heavy ugly black box/grill. Now this gen things have reversed, but with an even larger margin that previously, resolution/frame rate matter to the old PS3 fans who put up with it last gen without much complaint and talked about the awesome exclusives. Its the last gen 360 fans that are making excuses and not caring/seeing any difference between multi platform games and talking about the exclusives.

How do you even preorder one? I tried on a website of a certain wal mart family shop and it wouldn't let me - said I didn't have a promo code to pre-order one or something... ???

The majority of shops have had their allocation already ordered, so you might struggle to get one for release now. You'd be best going with one of the major shops like Game and ShopTo if you want one for release.

Wait until next week and ShopTo will probably have some day one editions again. They are starting to take payments Saturday and I imagine a few people won't pay so they should have a few more in stock.

That does seem the popular opinion, but I have to admit I'm tempted for two reasons...

1) I'm a fan of hack n slash games in general, so it could be right up my alley.
2) It looks beautiful, and I'd really quite like to see it up close and personal.

At least if I get it and don't like it I can always trade it in now :D

It seems to be xbox1 heavely sword. Looks great but ain't all that. I like the look if it and I enjoyed heavely sword.

I've recently heard that game sites aren't allowed to release reviews of any XBox One games just yet. The new cod game being the most recent title.

Why have MS done this?

You're seeing what you want to see, I'm an old 360 fan and I'm switching to Sony this generation, as are a lot of people on here.

Yep same here. I loved the 360 this gen, but now it's all about the PS4 :). I've only got loyalty to the machine not the company.

Same with me i've got both 360/ps3 and used the xbox more for games but still will be only buying a ps4 this time around never liked the kinetic and having one forced on me kinda put me off tbh much prefer the wii for those kind of games due to something in your hands rumbling and making noise appose to just waving your hands around like a idiot.

I'm buying both consoles and I have zero brand loyalty my money goes were the games are. If I could only afford one system and wasn't a shiny gadget magpie then I would only get the Xbox....for now.

What I don't understand are people who seem to feel the need to drag up the same issues over and over and over again, like rehashing the same subject will somehow justify there time and purchase. I think most people buying a XB1 (especially those on this forum) will be doing so with the knowledge it isn't as powerful as the PS4 but are will to live with that so they can enjoy the experience they are buying into, be that Kinect or exclusives or the heavy TV integration.

I'm sure the same goes for the PS4 people, I would hope most are purchasing based on wanting to play the exclusive titles or because they prefer PSN or whatever rather just because it faster.

....but the constant my 'Dad's bigger than your Dad' stuff is getting old, discuss the merits of your chosen system and the titles on it just please stop with the same inane drivel.

Loyalty? Lol...it's a games console not a dog.

I know.... it's quite odd.

It's as if people think being loyal to this or that brand, that they will be rewarded somehow.

I mean I like Sony stuff. Sony camera, Sony sound system, Sony tele, Sony Bluray player, PS3 and now PS4, but I'd drop them in a heartbeat if when I was buying there was something else I would rather have that offered me something better.

Edit: and before you ask why I am in here, it's because I am still interested in what's going on with Xbox One - though I don't get much info anywhere apart from PS4 > XBone...

Edit 2: And PS4 does > XBone :D :D :D Just kidding fellas.

Anywhere still doing Day One editions? I've got the CoD prestige bundle pre ordered from game (£630 or something) but I have no interest in CoD so would rather not buy that bundle.

Thanks

I think all the kerfuffle is over the some of the changing minds of people like Sessler and the lies. I dont mind playing at 720p there's nothing wrong with playing at that resolution.

But 1080p is always better. The textures will look better the anti aliasing will look better. There may be certain cases where 720p looks almost as good but it wont look the same or better not at any distance on a 1080p monitor or tv. That stupid graph that gets quoted has never been tested with game graphics and has no baring on them, and our eyes do not work that way.
