**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Its a patent thats all, but hey always good to hear of another type of possible DRM, visual DRM sounds good! If Im a fatty will I have to pay more to play Dance Central?

There might be a business in making Kinect Stealth suits ;). If I get a XO Ill definitely be turning Kinect around, it deffo seems to have some privacy concerns...
Thats got to be bull. Although I've already got a work around method planned.

Step 1. Buy Box large enough for humans

Step 2. Cut eye holes.
FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, Im gonna patent my idea first! :D

That...can't be true...

So they're marketing it as a living room style console yet if you have too many people in your living room, say a party for example, it charges you extra? Hah.

I think I'll really be looking at what Sony does with this second hand games malarky. :)
It'll be interesting to see, initially Sony said the PS4 will not allow second hand games but then back pedalled somewhat in a follow up interview saying you would be able to do it, although they didn't comment on how it would be allowed.

Come on guys, even the PS4 will have some load pointed at the OS when games are playing...

I agree.

ERP on beyond3D (Works for Sony IIRC) said the GPU allocation is 'inline' with what would be considered normal, so I'd expect the same on PS4..

The PS4 has permanent video recording/uploading and all the other background resources to reserver, so I would expect ballpark similarity between the two..

I still feel disappointed with the XB1 specs, only because I wanted more obvious parity so that it re-inforces a need to buy both.. Which is all I really want, some new shiny tech..

It truly amazing with so little information out at the moment what some will type on blogs and articles, and have absolutely NOTHING to base their assumptions on.
I would love to have the time to list and quote all of them if they turned out to be completely wrong and call them on it.

Software for the OS's are completely different. The Xbox has two separate OS's running at all times, the Win8 Kernel and the Xbox OS.

Whereas the PS4 is Unix based and should be much lighter weight resource wise.

Hence the quotes of 3GB dedicated to OS on Xbox and 1GB on PS4.

It's looking like The Witcher 3 could be PS4/PC only. They are refusing to even mention the Xb1 and have already confirmed it's in development for both PS4 and PC....hmm..

I think Sony will have a similar system as MS in place. Or they may have had until they saw the backlash when MS announced it.

This...it was a game of chicken to see who said something first with this in mind, MS pulled the trigger, hence why I think we got no specific details and still dont, so its in Sonys corner now.
