**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

A quick few first impressions>
Some things + navigating take some finding/getting used too.
Scanning codes is :)
HDMI throughput, really is not, even in standby ... looks like I need to buy a splitter.
Nice and guiet.
Friends list/notifications isn't as nice as the 360.
Went to try a CD (a: to test drive and b: to check audio through amp and had to download an app! at least it was free !
Oh and this not exiting game when going back to the dash is something I don't like, don't like that on my Android tablet either but I suppose that is required for instant game switching on digital downloads.
Shame there is no option to close game down when you want though.

I haven't scratched the surface, but like what I have seen so far :)

Forza is still at only 37%- it been downloading all day. I have a 2mb connection as well.

God! the xbox 1 is very quiet compared to the xbox 360.

No idea how long the competition takes, but it did take a while to install forza, might have had something to do with the 6gb download though !
You could actually play when install reached around 20% ish
 
One thing I've noticed that I don't like so far - I'm downloading FIFA 14 and installing DR3 from disk.

I cannot continue downloading/installing FIFA 14 whilst install DR3 from the disk, it's one or the other.

Bit of a pain in the arse, but I'm sure other than launch day I'll never really notice it.

Those wanting to know about install times, FIFA 14's is quite long but I'm downloading it though.

That said, you can play pretty quickly and get into what is essentially a demo of the game.
 
Slightly OT ... but as the HDMI passthrough is useless, can anyone recommend a decent auto switching HDMI splitter that doesn't cost too much ?
 
Gotta say I love the Kinect sign in - turn on the console, it sees you and signs you in automatically.

Considering I live in a house where more than one profile gets used a lot, that is lovely :)
 
I wonder if they would let you change the name of the Xbox to initiate a command.

I want to say "computer", Star Trek style lol

My controller is missing black from the X of the guide button and the right top half of the casing bows out so it catches on your hand.

Dunno what to do really as don't want to send it back to amazon, so wondering if it's worth giving Microsoft a go for a new pad.
 
So much downloading, it's crazy just to play a game I have on cd.

Anyone get the xbox live steelbox? It's supposed to have a £5 voucher for the store but I can't see a balance or anything.

Also, I want to create a profile for each of the kids but restrict them to offline and under age 12 games. I really don't understand the add to family thing, i can't select the create an email address box plus i only want them as local profiles.
