**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

LOL he went for the insurance at £65 for 2 yrs?? what a mug, they tried it with me but i just told them my home insurance will cover it.

Why is nobody mentioning the horrific frame rate of Dead Rising 3? It's borderline unplayable!

haha it's not at all. It runs great. I play 60fps all day on my pc and don't even feel any slowdown on dead rising. Maybe I've just got a damn good monitor, I have put it on a low latency setting for the xbox one which may help. I'm also upscaling through the cinema amp though the game already does that.

Are there any game or tech demos that make use of Kinect other than Kinect Sports Rivals? Something similar to the PS Playroom?

I'd like to play with Kinect a bit more but there doesn't seem to be much else to do with it, which is surprising as for a lot of people it'll be a brand new experience and so I expected MS to be pushing it a bit more.

KS Rivals is great fun - had some issues with it last night where Kinect thought I was constantly leaning to the right which meant my racer just went round in circles, but today it was working great.

One thing id love M$ to do is to allow us the option to map our own voice commands to our xbox one consoles. Of course it wont happen but one could dream, imagine saying yo xbox turn the **** on please:p

Im probably missing something here but when i say xbox, on...it turns on but my controller doesnt turn on at the same time. Should it turn on by itself when i tell it to turn on?? if so what setting do i need to change in order for it to turn the controller on when the console comes on??.

Unless its not meant to, in that case ignore me.

Nope that's what is supposed to happen.

Not sure whether I like it like that or not... considering you have to press the Xbox button on the controller anyway it almost makes the point of "Xbox, On" pointless.

It's handy if you have Sky plugged into it mind. "Xbox, On" followed by "Xbox, watch TV". Turns on the TV, turns on the Xbox and switches to Sky.

But for gaming, it's damn near pointless.

Sky is only coming out in stereo an I has no hdmi audio setting on my 500 year old hd box.

I my have to pressure sky for a new box.

Not noticed it at all and I've been playing for about 3-4 hours of just running around killing zombies.

Even at night when running around on the Bulldozer motorcycle with the flamethrower attached, I've killed around 200-300+ zombies at once with them being on fire and being run over and it didn't drop in framerate.

That said, I've noticed one or two texture pops and some areas where the floor has textures have gone black due to shadows.

Xbox Fitness is free and comes with some free workouts for Gold members (I think).

Zoo Tycoon makes some use of the Kinect but it's a bit sketchy with more than one person on the sofa.

My girlfriend was playing it last night and I was sitting on the sofa with my legs folded and it would think my foot was her arm

It would also generally think that I was her so she had difficulty interacting with animals in the game.

Seems I'm not the only one who doesn't get the whole way you turn the console on.

It's very odd how you need to turn it on with the front button/controller then say xbox, on.

I've got round it by turning kinect off in the settings, it works just like my 360 did now, press either button and the console comes on.

What a strange thing to have to do.

Eh?? As long as you haven't turned it off at the plug, saying "Xbox, On" will turn the console on (and the TV if you've set that up). It just doesn't turn on the controller.

When you set up the console to begin with did you set it up so it completely turns off in the power settings?? There is two options, one that is essentially power saving and one is to allow it to function "properly".

pioneer 2000 must have a faulty xbox or tv, framerate is fine for me

Lol. For a group of people that ramble on about how they can detect input lag so easily, I'm staggered by the responses on here.

The initial section, after the plane with the 2 survivors was literally crawling. Motion blur in full effect too!

Now that I'm in the game proper, the framerate does seem a lot better, not perfect but not game breaking.

I set it to off properly.

You then have to press the controller/ front and it powers on for a few seconds, if you don'tsay xbox on it goes off again.

Xbox is causing my digibox to lose signal from remote and freeze up

Also not listing channel or able to change channel, have to use remote

No idea on the first part, but if you're talking about allowing the Xbox One to change channel through "Watch TV" and the "Xbox One Guide" this isn't available at launch unfortunately.
