What happens then if you get a faulty Sony product?

i am not talking about a sony , but i would still expect better service then to be told after spending £500 on console to which the controller has came faulty that i had to send it to to get repaired and not be able to continue playing, i just think its just poor service on behalf of Microsoft
 
Question: My Xbox One is on the auction site, I won't spoil this thread by going in to reasons why. However, someone has sent me an email asking for the serial number of the console, to prove I'm not a scammer. I've declined on the grounds that it's more likely a scam that they want the serial from me!

So, why would someone want a serial number, for a genuine reason to somehow check with Microsoft its a legitimate unit or for sinister reasons?

When my 360 broke (twice), on both occasions I was without a console while it was repaired. This is how the majority of companies work. I don't know why you're expecting more.
 
I just love how quick people are to defend the XO that they magically infer someone is comparing it to the PS4 when theyve said nothing of the sort. Quite sad really...

Sorry, but I'm with Oneshot on this one. The least they could have done was sent the controller out first. The controller didn't develop a fault it came with one.
They could have even put the price of a pad on his credit card and just reimbursed him when they got the faulty one back.

I also think it's sad how quick people are to jump all over MS for acting like the vast majority of companies do in respect to repairing broken items.

I took a few days off from here, did people praise MS for giving free games to the people affected by the problems with the BluRay drives?

Im still confused, someones unhappy with the service theyve been given, rightly or wrongly, at end of the day its their prerogative how they deal with that?

You aswell as others jumping on them seems way over the top. That and making up some intangible link to them comparing it to a competitor...

Honestly I really think your value as a Don needs to be reconsidered - its pointless trying to be rational with you

We have one comparative console maker to compare them to in treatment of service, so its going to be Sony, and maybe Nintendo, I had two faulty Wii controllers and had to send them both back one was replaced, one was repaired.
when it comes to these things makers or similar products are compared.
Its why Logitech have such a strong following.
Reverse this and put it in the PS4 thread..it would be the exact same.

Funnily enough thats not the first time I've seen someone say that recently.

Another note, it is different to how other companies handle it, due to the fact Microsoft don't have a store. If you were delivered a faulty Apple product and took it back to their store you would walk out with a new one there and then. That option isn't there at all with MS.

The thing is only you brought up the comparison, at no point did ONESHOTKILL even hint at that (which he clarified), so as I said its quite sad to make the comparison when it wasnt required or intimated

I didn't compare MS to anyone else, except to say how they are dealing with repairs is how virtually every other company does.
