**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I noticed the LB button on my Day One controller doesn't click properly or feel as responsive as the RB. Should I contact Asda or MS for a replacement?

I got a day one bundle. The day one controller buttons stick, and the second standard controller that came with my bundle had loose casing.

I took that one back to Game and they gave me an in-store replacement.

I would go back to Asda if you bought in store; Sales of Goods Act will apply etc. If bought online, DSR applies instead.

Is anyone getting a clicking kinda noise from te fan at all on the xbox one? Mine seems to have started doing something last night where it sounds like the fan is spinning but catching on something, can't put my finger on the noise but thats about the best likeness I can think of!

I noticed this with my Xbox usually when either on Stand by (Can hear a very slight ticking noise) then when on Dashboard/Watching TV a quicker ticking noise so I believe it is the fan?

If it remained like this for many years to come it would not bother me but after it being a few days old it's not very reassuring.

Purchased from GAME, What would people recommend contact to discuss it and see the out come also if so would I contact GAME or Microsoft themselves?

Go to Game first. They have a responsibility as your retailer to ensure products are fit for purpose.

Cheers, Will give them a call.

Also just picked up on a slight mark on 2 of the venting like squirly scratches only noticable in certain light but I will also chuck that in then assuming they will replace it.

Thing that amazed me most, the controllers. The XB1 controller is comfy but the sticks don't quite feel right, both of mine have 'rough' zones were the internals are rubbing which gets annoying. Having always hated Dual Shock controllers I expecting to keep up the trend, but it was amazing. This slight increase in size means I no longer get hand cramp using it and the thumb sticks feel perfect, but how short is that charge cable!! :D

I love the rumble motors in the XBO's triggers, and the triggers in general feel better (to me) but the size change compared to the 360's controller is a big negative for me.
The DS4 is vastly improved, and pretty much on par with the XBO controller for me, I still dislike the stick positions but I guess thats never going to change so.
Both are several notches below the 360 controller in comfort for me, however :(

I tried MS first. They said I would need to pay to return the controller and it could take up to 3 weeks to receive a replacement

I've obviously been spoilt dealing with companies like Logitech, Apple, Dell, Lezyne, Amazon etc that I was really unimpressed with speaking to MS.

Called Asda, as they don't have any in stock so they offered me a few options including full refund or waiting for replacement stock (would have to replace the whole console) the one I took was a partial refund on my order of £45 so I could just go out and buy a new controller and can keep the one I have. :D

How did you do it mate?

Plugged the optical cable into my "optical in", and from the Creative control panel thing, set the Optical In to "Listen to this device" and volume up to 100%.
It's basically another input device like a microphone, so as long as you enable "listen to this device" all should work :)

I run a Createive ZxR :)

Really? Well, I'll speak to them tonight, and on the good side, being a console problem they'll hopefully agree to ship a new console and then have the old one back.

Out of interest, you did you purchase the Xbox from?

Also who will you contact the retailer or MS themselves.

My xbox one controller (day one) has movement along the sides, where the front plate meets the back plate, its possible to push them closer together (say 1 or 2 mm). Its worse on the left side just next to the D pad where my palm holds the controller. Any thing like this with others? I think its because of the 'screwless' design, but not sure if its a faulty controller or not.

Mines the same , figured I'd live with it.

Mine is the same as well, sounds like a very common problem.

Anyone at all concerned that the XO pads might shake themselves to bits eventually? :p

I've noticed with the combination of triggers and regular rumble in Forza 5, there's a hell of a lot of vibration going on, and I'm sure my pad is a little looser/rattlier than when it came out of the box. The shiny plastic part around the large guide button is also slightly wobbly, and I'm sure than vibrates against the main casing when all the motors are going at it.

I'd get another to compare and possibly switch to, but we all know just how important that Day 1 2013 branding is ;)

When playing Forza, yes, I totally think it's about to rumble itself to pieces.

:D

I do love how it rumbles in Forza 5 though, driving the LaFerrari last night was an experience with the rumble...

I bought it from ShopTo, but will speak to MS directly.
