It's basically another input device like a microphone, so as long as you enable "listen to this device" all should work :)

Hmm, well I'm using on board sound but there is a digital optical port. Plugged it in there and opened the Realtek audio manager program, can't see anything to amend the input source though?
 
There seems to be a number of 'versions' of the console already in the UK, I mean their packaging and how they are sold not the console technology itself. So far Ive seen these:

* Day One Edition in a Black Box with a bundled game, eg Fifa 14 or Forza
* Day One Edition in a Green Box bundled with Fifa 14
* Normal edition in a Green Box bundled with Fifa 14
* Normal edition just the console in a Green Box

In the US, the normal console comes in a black box I think.

It seems you can get Fifa 14 in any/all the versions but I thought Fifa 14 was only available with the Day One editions.

The day one in black box with the day one print on the pad is the pre order version. The day one in the green box is non pre order
 
I've ordered a DAC for the sound.

The next issue is, the other half has a One on the way, she will be on a monitor with only VGA. I've googled if any old hdmi>vga adaptor works and apparently not, I know someone else had the same setup and bought an adaptor that worked. Anyone point me in the right direction of an adaptor that definitely works with this setup?

and the psp was the previous best selling console yet it got its bottom handed to it by the ninety ds :D its a marathon not a sprint,but happy for those who got one ,mine was broke got refund will buy another after xmas

wouldnt hdcp stop this working vga? I tried an adaptor when tuning the picture and it didnt work.

What sort of screen is it? You'd need at least a DVI connection and the screen would need to be HDCP compliant. Unless you get one of those expensive adapters, might be worth just getting a cheapish screen/tv.

Just a 22" AOC Monitor, not wanting to spend anymore money! I thought the adaptor just had to have a chip in it to convert the signal or whatnot? Blah.

Tenner most places but I know what adaptors you mean and yeah hence why I'm sceptical. I'm sure someone will have been in my situation mind and got it working. The signal surely is the same as the HDMI 360 and these adaptors work with that..
 
Really disappointed with my Xbox One at the moment. Feeling I have bought the wrong console.

Can't play FIFA Clubs because its totally broken, ditto with BF4 Multiplayer.

Really not feeling it right now, might just be because I'm in a totally foul mood today. Hope they get things fixed soon.

bf4 broke on pc and consoles and fifa i only play ultimate and think its great,forza is good and dr3 is a blast I'm having a lot of fun on the one :D
