**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I am really unhappy about how thick the Kinect cable is compared to the really thin cable tie bounding it together. Not very aesthetically pleasing. So glad I could remove that thin cable tie as it really ruined the look.

I have a sticky A button, bought mine from an online retailer so thought id contact Microsoft chat.

Told them the situation, I HAVE TO PAY to send the pad back then they might replace it!!!

LOL, what a joke brand new console, faulty pad and they want me to pay them to send it back!

This has apparently been doing the rounds, if you follow these steps you obviously don't unlock backwards compatibility, you just brick your console (it gets stuck in a reboot loop apparently.)

Thought i better warn you guys before somebody sees it and tries it. :o

Xbox got delivered... well tried...

Got mother up at my house all day with me and mrs being at work all day. She got fed up at 5 and went home. Delivery man tried to deliver at 5.07......

Gay, complete utter gay.

Will have to wait till tuesday now :(

I have to say I do like the Xbox one. Only played a little Fifa and a round of Powerstar Golf, bought DR3 yesterday as well but not played yet, but spent most of my time playing with the interface and Kinect voice commands.

Talking of the voice commands, they are good and I do hope they get expanded on over the comming years.

I like how saying "XBox on" turns your TV and amp on, I don't use the voice command to turn them off, as that saves me using my poor thumb to press the on button on 2 different remote controls. Phew, what a time and thumb saver ;-)

After having used the PS3 controller for the last 4 years, the new XBox One controller is a revelation. I don't seem to have any issue with the shoulder buttons. I do look forward to seeing how the PS4 controller compares when I get one next year.

DR3 and Forza today, got to buy Forza first, and these 2 are the main reason for buying the console.

Only real negative so far is the hand gestures for controlling the UI. Bit crap atm. Oh and also the fact you don't get built in rechargeable batteries as standard. Poor show MS.

Omg at that bogus 360 backwards compatibility thing above, I wonder how many people have been suckered into that.

Personally I think it's really bad of M$ to have included the ability to access those settings just with a button press combination, it should be locked and only accessible with other hardware or software only available to devs etc.

For the normal end user those settings serve no purpose but present a risk to uninformed or young users that mess with them without knowing the consequences. Bad form M$.

How long did it take you? :P what headset you using it with and does it actually work!? ha

About 30 mins, remove wire from headset, strip wires, clean, tin and solder.

Although first time I hadn't cleaned the enamel of the ground properly so people could hear themselves echo back. Re-soldered the ground and seems to be working well :)

You'd have to be a bit "simple" to enter freezone.reboot and think anything good could come of it.

That's like the poster that said updating to iOS 7 makes your iDevice waterproof. HOW WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?!

This is certainly more believable then the waterproof thing. Remember 99% of owners have never heard of x86 and PowerPC or the differences between them.
