How do you take advantage of the 5minute recording on the One? If I say Xbox Record That it does 30 seconds of my last gameplay, so how do I take advantage of the 5mins?

No way is the os that big. Presumably there's a large chunk reserved for the dvr functionality.

Or pagefile.sys. and hibernate.sys.

I would not bother . I recorded 5 mins of killer instinct to see how good it was and the quality is terrible to be honest . Makes the games look like they are running on a ps2

I think you have to snap the Game DVR and select in manually.

Apparently the Xbox One has 360GB storage for games etc...140GB is quite a lot to be allocated to the OS and whatever other bits it is getting used for.

PS4 is similar although not as bad at 408GB useable

Today I mostly feel like jumping on my Xbox. The party set up is crap and i'm getting fed up of BF4 kicking me back to dashboard. As everyday passes I get closer and closer to trading it in for a PS4.

Its a difficult thing, as I need to separate my hate from One and make sure its all on BF4, if BF4 was running properly, I would be in a much better mood.

The rest of the OS lacking I can understand as I know its going to come along pretty quick.

That's BF4, not the console. It is a broken mess on all three platforms.

It's all that is keeping me from buying it now, but I am not paying £50ish for a beta.

I was set on the Xbox until the last couple of giantbomb podcasts, as time has gone on they have found more and more stuff of irritation and irrational decisions. A console underpowered to the competition but that's because it's designed to do so much more. Except it doesn't.

Games wise the only one they all seem to be having fun with is DR3.

The more I listen and the more I read it just seems half finished. Would it really have hurt them to wait until summer for a launch and had plenty of stock and bundles for a 2014 xmas launch?

I thought I'd try and get one after christmas but I will give it 6 months now. I'm trying my hardest to find reasons to stay with xbox and give them as much time as possible to sort out issues.

Update incoming Xbox One, shame it doesn't sort out the stuff we all wanted sorting!!

If you are not using the Xbox One “Instant On” feature, you will be required to download and apply this update after Thursday, December 12th at 4:00 PM PT.

This update addresses the following:

Addresses SmartGlass issues for some users when coming in and out of connected standby
Addresses multiplayer issues for some users when re-joining games
Addresses issues with inconsistent notifications for some users
Addresses dashboard performance for some users
Offers improvements for Xbox One’s TV, system update, and content update services for scaling over time
Updated wireless networking driver to improve connectivity issues for some users
We’ve got quite a few updates planned for the next year based on the community feedback we’ve been seeing, and I’ll have details on those in the future.
