**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

So dissapointed, look like it's less than 50/50 i'll get the Xbox One for Christmas, nothings arrived for xmas stock after the initial first consoles brought to Gibraltar.

<sad face>Pre-ordered with a local shop about 2 months ago, should have picked it up and stored it for Christmas</sad face>

Phew had a bit of a scare last night, guess my xbox downloaded the update as i havent played on it for a few days. So everything had powered down, turned it back on and saw a green screen which was stuck for about 10mins then finally re-started and signed me in.

Update has made the dashboard a bit more faster as i was noticing a lot of lag but thought it probably had to do with my 8 yr old Sammy LCD lol.

Now if i can only get hold of Ryse for cheap ie under £40 then ill be set for more gaming fun.

But they werent - when the XO launched the PS4 was only available in the US and Canada - least get your spin factually correct...
LOL

Yes I know that. I was suggesting as over half of PS4 total sales were made before XO was released, that you could use the same spin that you used, to say "XO sold more in it's first 24 hours than PS4 sold both on that date and subsequently (i.e since XO release) globally despite PS4 being available in 32 countries to XOs 13"... Of course using that date completely ignores the over 1 million PS4 sold in USA and Canada on it's first 24hours prior to that on purpose, hence the "spin eh".

...woosh... I suspect the point went over your head there, apologies if I didn't word the original post clearly enough. LOL, ROFL, LMAO, etc ;)

That was my point about spin, it's all twaddle worded to promote a particular bias. /sigh. The facts seem to suggest they have both sold roughly the same numbers in November, which given the disparity in territory's released into bodes well for XO despite the pre launch PR problems and "OMG PS4 will outsell XO by 2:1 and XO launch is a disaster" posts of a while back. It also suggests to me both consoles still have serious supply constraints.

Yeah it wasnt worded that well at all - poor spin :p

I dont think you can really consider less than a few weeks worth of sales as indicative of how well they will do, its good to see that Sony are being competitive in the US, which is really should be considered surprising...

As you said both appear to be supply constrained, Sony moreso than MS from the looks of things, Im not sure how theyll do with launching in so many additional countries over the next couple of months - I guess theyll get a foothold before MS announce their launch dates for Tier 2 and 3 countries...

Sony have just launched in another 16 countries taking it to 48 vs XO's 13. I'd have thought that would suggest it's far more likely the XO number is due to more supply constraint than PS4.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that it isnt hard to find XO in stock, especially in the US. PS4 launching in other countries wouldnt help supply contraints in countries that have already launched Id have thought, still seems hard to get one here at RRP looking at the PS4 thread

Does appear that MS are overstocking in the US (Titanfall bundle?), surprised they havent started to gear up for their next launch - though that looks like more likely to be mid-2014 if the rumours are true so lots of time to stock pile in readiness...

Not true.

It's 2 to 1 at the very minimum in the PS4's favour and that information will be revealed soon enough.

You can pick up an XB1 easily right now, good luck getting a PS4 anywhere even though there was far more stock shipped.

MS need to get their act together ready for next Xmas.

Can get an XB1 from Argos, Tesco, PC World, Microsoft store right now.

Hows those drugs you on...exactly how is the PS4 even close to selling 2:1?

XO is not that available, they get sportatic stocks often in single figures and sell out fast.

Stop posting made up rubbish.

Sony and MS have both announced they sold ~2m consoles in November which is what we're discussing, but yeah, you probably know better than they do.

XO potential has more availability in UK at the moment as it's only launched in 13 countries, PS4 stock is spread across 48 which explains same (ish) all up numbers but less UK stock. It's not too difficult to understand.. /sigh. We expect PS4 to outsell XO globally as has been the pattern for Xbox/PS2 and 360/PS3 but supply constraints are pretty much limiting both consoles so far.

Sheesh, there's always one...
