**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Lol, it's ironic because yesterday my console died, I then get an email asking if I liked my first steps.

As above, that vivivi guy is me. :p

FFS found my Xbox One had the disk drive issue where it can't read disks and makes a rather nasty clicking noise when inserting a disk. Anyone have this? Or anyone know the best way to deal with it? i hear its a known issue and to use the advanced exchange program but can't see how to do this and get a free release game as compansation...

For a little while I thought the updat had bricked my console. It was stuck on the green xbox screen for a long time. But it is fine controllers also fine thus far

Ring MS support, you can find everything you need on xbox support pages.

They are open until 9pm.

Its all good, called MS support. Use the advanced exchange program so i get a new console in 2 - 3 business days. They also let me have a free game too! which was nice! got dead rising =] At least i can play until then...

Got my console on Wednesday. Unfortunately, due to Amazon not delivering the games I ordered it is pretty much useless until they arrive. Not a good advert for their prime delivery service when the games are at least two days late.

Killer Instinct and Xbox Fitness are free (ish) and there are a few demos to keep you going until the games arrive.

Picked up mine the other day and enjoying it so far.
I have got fifa and battlefield and not overly impressed with the
graphics as im a pc gamer but its the first lot of games and a expect them
to get better and better. I got Ryse in the post from a rentals yesterday and really was blown away with the graphics. Amazing looking game and pretty fun to play too. As prices for games are huge at the moment im only going to buy mp games i will put the time in and rent the rest. I have about 35 xbox games now that are worth about a quid each.

Stolen from x360achievements website, via Twitter. Thought the PS4 sold one million in its first 24hrs? Or am I halucinating?

Selling over 2 million units worldwide in 18 days since launch was apparently only the tip of the iceberg for Xbox One, with Microsoft releasing more statistics relating to the console, off the back of recent November NPD figures. The stats reveal that 909,132 of the 2 million Xbox One's sold globally, were sold in the US during the console's first nine days on sale, making it the fastest selling console on the market Stateside.

The Xbox One averaged a volume of more than 101,000 consoles per day, with total retail spend reaching $1.21 billion, which is apparently the most for any console in the US, according to the November NPD numbers. And during the month of November Xbox One and Xbox 360 games held five of the top 10 spots in the charts, thanks to US consumers purchasing on average 2.1 games per console.

Xbox One also sold almost three times as many units compared to Xbox 360 in the US in November, when compared to the previous console's November 2005 launch. Microsoft is still working to meet demand for Xbox One over the coming Christmas period.

Naah it did, just spun so its not 'who sold the most', but 'who sold most on average per day'...

Basically the PS4 sold more in 24hours than the XO did in its first 9 days in the US...

Love the NPD info thats 'missing' from that article :p

Anyone in Cambridge looking for one, Tesco Bar Hill seems to have plenty of stock as they have had a sign out for 4 days now saying they have stock to sell.

They have both sold ~2million although the Xbox was only in 13 countries compared to 32 for PS4. Both also sold ~1million on launch day.

Talking of spinning, you could use the same language to say "Basically once it was released and customers had a choice of console, XO sold more in just 24hours than every PS4 sold globally from that date, despite PS4 being available in nearly three times as many countries." :p

Spin eh, :D

I'm just going to go with they've both sold about the same which is good news for console gaming and choice.

But they werent - when the XO launched the PS4 was only available in the US and Canada - least get your spin factually correct...
