If any console is going to have heat problems it'd be the PS4 with its very slimline case, which doesn't leave a lot of room for a decent cooler, not to mention it's GPU will be pulling more power due to the extra shader count. There doesn't look to be room for a big standard heatsink and slow moving large fan. I can see Sony going with a 'blower' style cooler, if so the PS4 could be a fair bit louder under load than the Xbox One. However, I don't think there are any pictures of the PS4 internals yet, so we'll have to see what they've come up with.
Do you have a mobile phone? Does it have a camera, microphone and data connection? If it does can you detach it or do you trust it's not broadcasting video, audio and your location back to the NSA 24x7?
You can't 'perform' when someone's/something's watching?![]()

Who said anything about the NSA or microphones, really - do you read posts or just skip over them and add words yourself? I've never said anything about being spied on!
Its not like I'm the only human being in the world that does it.....That's the thing, it isn't even always on when plugged in, it can still be turned off!I have to say I don't get the paranoia about the always on camera tbh. If Microsoft wants to watch me fap in front of the TV fair doos I got nothing to hideIts not like I'm the only human being in the world that does it.....
All out on the cooling? Looks the same as the slim to me lol
Then if being spied on isn't behind your hatred of cameras pointed at you, what is? You must have a reason, even one you know is illogical. I don't care what it is, I'd just love to know your reasons behind your hatred. Do you dislike pictures of yourself so much you're paranoid it'll somehow switch itself on and take a picture? Worried it'll steal your soul when you're not looking? Do you play games naked? What is the reason?
Then that's fine. Weird, but fine.Yeah I don't like pictures of myself - apart from photo's for ID (which I obviously hate but need) - there are no photo's of me from the last 20 years that I know of, I'm 35 years old, my parents, friends, nobody has a recent photo of me.
Don't care if people think it's weird, plenty of people don't like their photo being taken. So to sit in front of a camera, even with the remote possibility it could put my picture on screen, in a game, whatever - I wasn't prepared to pay money for that.
That's what I wasn't understanding though, you were just saying you hated it but didn't say why. At least I know, and I'll stop badgering you
And if people had paid attention, you'd know that even at the point when the Kinect was required to be plugged in, it could be turned off. Completely off. As in not looking at you, not listening to you. Off. Yet people still complained.
I work in an office of about 120 people and I would say 10-20% cover their laptop cameras.
See I said I wasn't the only weird one!Just out of curiosity, do you use the current Kinect to voice operate your 360?
There was a big story (last year or year before) where there was a way to enable webcams on laptops without your knowledge (without turning the light on). After this a "lot" of people started covering their laptop cameras. I work in an office of about 120 people and I would say 10-20% cover their laptop cameras. In London I only see 1 person do this out of 500. So privacy is interpreted differently by different people. I assure you these are not paranoid nut jobs. They have just read about a story/hack they do not understand and have reacted accordingly.

Personally, not really. However, the current dash is not really designed around a voice operated system. The new system has been designed that way, which is why I'm really interested in seeing how it will work.
I guess I just tend to think I have nothing to hide, so if someone could figure out a way to turn on my laptop camera and watch what I'm doing, all they'd see is a 35 year old playing games or watching videos. They'd turn the camera back off in minutes![]()
