**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Just contacted Shopto about swapping my Fifa xbox to a Forza one. They simply said unless I buy a bundle then they are not willing to swap the order over.

I simply said Cancel it then.

Not great service..

Why?

They had a set allocation (few hundred) of standalone Forza 5 bundles, which sold out almost immediately like most places, the rest are allocated to bundles which they have to set aside.

If they have sold out, they have sold out. Nothing to do with poor service.

depends on your game preferences i guess.

I could make do with this as I want BF4

I could get the same bundle from amazon for £487 effectively so not too overpriced. But its the £15 extra MS points that I don't need that makes it a poor deal. But still, what choice have you got as amazon now appear to be out of day one editions.

It would be nice if they gave customers who pre ordered a while back the choice to change without forcing you to buy stuff you do not want.

Note they said they were not willing not that they could not do it.

they make the bundles though. Nobody is forcing them to bunlde £15 MS points cards in with it.

Its just a way of getting more money. They lost my custom that way.

I decided against the day one edition, the additions sound fairly...minor.

I couldn't give a damn what edition it is. Its more about the fact that Day One editions are guaranteed release day delivery, while the standard ones are not. (for amazon at least)

LoL, business in making money shocker

They decided the allocation of standalone/bundle allocation split. That's their strategy, so be it if you weren't quick enough to swap. A rush like we saw yesterday should have been expected after 1) the release date announcement and 2) the (surprise) inclusion of F5 as a free game in quick succession.

You realise how ridiculous that sounds? I'm assuming you pre-ordered when there were NO free games or bundles? Now you complain you can't swap one FREE game for another? I don't think anybody FORCED you to pre-order the console.

very.co.uk have because i ordered 27th August changed my fifa day one to a forza day one woohooo! They are shipping direct from manufacturer and doing 3 interest free monthly payments for £399 today given that i used a generic £30 voucher i found on HUKDs lol. Bargain of the century. Basically same price as ps4 with the best game and a free camera.

Well I was waiting a while but I've just ordered!
Utter legend thank you.

Don't think my 10% applied actually :/

All though not paying for 3 months and getting forza is good enough for me

That's what I've ordered. I don't mind the £15 credit as I will no doubt use it for DLC for games, or UT packs in Fifa. It won't go to waste so I had no problems picking it :)

Xbox One's Digital Sharing Will Return "When the Time is Right"

Microsoft's original plans for Xbox One may have been scrapped in light of the public's response, but some of its ideas, including digital game sharing, could make a return in the future.

Speaking with GameSpot during PAX Prime, Microsoft executive Albert Penello discussed a digital future for the gaming industry, stating emphatically that a digital-only future will one day be realized. He pointed to what's happening with tablets, phones, music, and movies, as well as PC games with Steam, as evidence of this shift toward a digital-oriented future that the gaming industry will follow.

For now, Xbox One remains a disc-oriented system for games. It will have more of a digital presence than Xbox 360, with all games being made available digitally, but, as we already know, at launch it will lack some of the features Microsoft originally promised before bending to the will of outraged gamers. Things like being able to sell digital games and allow up to ten family members (who didn't actually have to be family members) to play your Xbox One games from any system went out the window with that shift, but Penello indicated the family sharing feature and others will be revisited

You what, my point is because of the below, did you not read my post. I quote myself.

Note they said they were not willing not that they could not do it.

The fact they said to me over the phone they could do it but were not willing without me placing an order for a bundle is to me anyway bad service. Especially as I have spent over a grand with them so far.

I think they'll definitely implement sharing of digital content at some point.

I can't recall the exact details of the original proposal, but wasn't this linked to the "always on-line"? In a simplistic way they can't have one without the other right?

They will phase it in gradually.

There's nothing to stop the online check in being mandatory in 4 years time by a software update for example

No, they could implement it just for things purchased on the store (rather than their original plan of everything)

They would open themselves up to legal action I imagine.

It would probably not be required for your old current style disc games. Plus remember Sony, they never did get forced to reintroduce the "other OS" option despite removing previously available functionality

happy to help but its £129/m for 3 months interest free or upto 12 months without paying a penny. If you fail to pay in time you go onto 39% apr but noones gonna do that :P

The £30 code will apply 3-4 days after they phone you to tell you the order is ok. This will mean you pay nothing for 1 month then £129/m for 3 months on the 'take 3' offer.

Putting in the free forza is awesome! when very phoned me they guaranteed me for launch day and said they understand gamers and have direct deals with MS factory shipping.

so basically buy today for £399 including forza and pay nothing for a month then 3 interest free monthly payments and get guaranteed day one delivery from factory!
