Didn't he say he was playing it earlier?

Dash doesn't look great, but sure it will be better when everything is enabled. Chances are most of them didn't work and weren't live tiles.
 
As Davey says, mostly using it to play games, so not that bothered about dash. But it looks snappy for sure, so popping in and out doesn't look frustrating, so if I was to use it for things like Skype, it seems to work well.

It's for Kinect, the camera can see it and it will allow it to follow controllers between people so it knows who is playing. It can then instantly log in the 2nd player to their profile.

It's so kinect can see the controller and who is holding it. Like MS have said, when you swap the controller with someone you can have it so that the console will recognise this and log the new player into the console.

I hope we can go back to the dash and do other stuff during some long cutscenes. But even if that was suspended, that was fast!
 
Dash looked fast and advert free, for the most part!! The tiles were empty so looked rubbish, but I guess they will be like Win8 and have "live" content in them when released. Weather info, number of messages, that kind of thing.

Hopefully they at least stick with the same interface for the lifespan of the console/Win 8. on 360 it was annoying they changed the dash and the way that themes worked so ones you bought on the old dash did not look as good when the new dash (s) were launched. I think W8 design looks quite clean without skinning/themeing it. Just allowing a color scheme change (to change tile colors) would be sufficient to me. It's all about speed really and it seems quite fast in that video

I think it's potentially really useful as you and your friend may like different control schemes when playing a particular game. When you pass the controller around, it should recognise who is holding it and load their profile, which includes their control layout. Saves some messing around if it's something you do regularly.
 
The IR blasting of the kinect is pretty interesting.

Apparently its going to be able to control your TV using it so you can change your TVs volume using the xbox !
 
In two minds as to get this or not.

I have so many pc games I do not play. Often I find playing them a hassle.

I used to love my Xbox 360, since getting my pc I have not really bothered with it. Wondering if this will rekindle my love of gaming.....

I will get one, before I get a PS4 as well but I'm in the same boat. I mainly game on PC and can't justify paying £450+ for something that may not get too much use. Fingers crossed for some good deals in January but I'm not getting my hopes up.
