**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I'd rather try the One controller myself before being all doom and gloom and criticising MS for not making the old controller b/c.

TBH I've seen more positive hands-on reports than negative, most seem to say it's an improvement on an already class-leading design. Personally looking forward to the rumble triggers and Kinect tracking.

In a interview conducted with Xbox Australia product manager Adam Pollington via YouTuber ChampChong at EB Games Expo, it was revealed that, in addition to recording around five minutes of game footage, the Xbox One’s DVR will seamlessly record any achievement that you unlock. This, of course, is in addition to the 5 minutes of gameplay footage you can record at will.

Adam also mentioned that it’s possible for developers to use the Kinect camera to record a live reaction feed of the player at the time of an achievement unlock. These are just some of the many exciting social features Microsoft is looking to offer for its upcoming next-gen console.

I like the idea of that.

Lol.

I just hope devs put more thought into when achievements pop, as just looking at it pop on a black screen will be dull as sin.

How is it doom and gloom? I have 4 360 controllers, it would have been better for me to have the ability to use them in a wired mode than buy extras for the limited time I use more than 1 or 2 :)

With Ps3ud0 explaining the hack I can see why they have gone this route.

It feels awkward in the hand and the triggers are angled outwards which feels odd

They were talking about that on Outsidexbox.

One of the presenters really liked it, the other didn't. It seems its kind of down to personal preference as to how you tend to push the buttons, like whether you roll off them, or hammer down on the triggers.

You know something thats just dawned on me that I feel slightly stupid for not thinking about before but does anyone know if the game dvr will record the in game audio as well? Or even the chat from multiplayer or whatever?

Yea its definitely down to personal preference, my mate liked it but we both agreed the ps4 pad felt perfect and I hated the ds3

With voice over! :D no but seriously I've not seen anything about audio, maybe I should just take it for granted that it will
Though I think its a given to have in game audio I wonder if youd ever have the chance to record your/other peoples comms too as part of the DVR? Might need to watch what you say over comms if its always recording - hope it does as it might make MP a nicer place to be in more of the time...

ps3ud0

Yeah, from what I can gather, it records the gameplay (with sound) and then you have the option of doing a commentary and adding some basic effects.

Tricky. If the other people don't give you consent to record their voices, that breaks the data protection act.

I don't think thats entirely true. Theres plenty of videos online with recorded chat that I'm sure they didn't give consent to

You'd rather hear the audible tears of whiny 12 year olds? :p

If they're crying over being shot in the face by me then yes! :D

I'm sure there is probably something in the Xbox Live T&C that would cover that if required. Possibly even an updated set will need to be agreed to the first time you login to XBL on the Xbox One.
