Xbox One X

I think I might have to cancel my Scorpio edition pre order. Im really struggling to justify it to myself now :(.

If their games are cross platform then my pc is gonna be a better option anyway.

How frustrating, I've not felt the need to own a console outside of Nintendo for a while now.

Same boat as many others - decent PC and a Pro (and an original Xbox One so my son can play Rocket League with his mates). Preordered 'just in case'. I've no need for a UHD Bluray player.

It's a crying shame the CPU in the XBX is still as poor as the original because the higher frame rate could have the been the real differentiator - in reality, it's only marginally better than the Pro. Yes, it will sell really well initially but I can see some more heavy Pro discounting/bundles up to Christmas to stir things up.

Pre-ordered Standard edition, just in case!

Still have the original xbox one gathering dust, so not sure I actually need it.
Also would need to buy a 4K TV, too best utilise it.
A potential PS4 Pro has some great Naughty Dog exclusive games to play.
And have a good but aging gaming PC.

But it's shiny and new, I jear you saying...

I think I'd be interested in one but only if the promised Xbox mouse/keyboard supports comes good and we start seeing ports of more PC style games you don't normally get on console. I already have a standard Xbox so I'll see how it pans out on that.

If Microsoft can bring about more cross play with Windows I'd happily buy one as an alternative to a new video card next year! Personally these days I'd quite like to ditch my gaming pc, go with just a laptop and use the Xbox in place of it but the variety of games I want isn't available on console right now.

promised Xbox mouse/keyboard
Is this a thing? If they bring proper mouse/keyboard support to console FPS games then unless they can segregate gamepad users from keyboard I'm going to lose interest rapidly. I have no interest in being beaten by an unfair advantage.

Yeah it is. But I wouldn't worry. Given the last crop of pc games with pad support and auto aim it will be mouse users complaining.

I had a chance to play the Xbox One X at EGX yesterday and it was extremely disappointing.

In the case of Assassins creed the MS Rep said beforehand that it boasted amazing 4K graphics, ultra smooth graphics that was not even using the full power of the system and an incredible amount of detail (advising to use the bird to show that off).

In reality it was pathetic, tearing, slowdown, popup and textures (poor textures) that filled in when you were almost on top of the object. We asked another rep from their tech dept about the poor performance and the fact that it was so poor in general and he basically agreed and said there was nothing they could do about it as they have to work with what they have.

So it's very well for MS to say the the Xbox One X can do this and that but when they are unable to demo anything that proves it then what is the point. Forza actually ran OK but was nothing amazing, certainly no better and probably a little less detailed than GT Sport on the PS4 Pro.

So basically very disappointing from MS who had nothing to show really.

Interesting.

Are you a pro user now? If so would you say the upgrade not worth it?
