Personally I'm more put off by the neon green text (which I'm hoping is just for the demo models). The black/grey fade looks kind of nice, especially with the console set up vertically.

The green text is part of the Scorpio edition.

Yes but the above is a new one from Digital Foundry. There are even some effects they can't replicate on the PC version.

Sorry, was struggling to post a link from iPad. As far as I can tell when looking at multiple photos taking the lighting into account it's matt black

**edit** actually I take that back, it looks like the custom graphic on the Scorpio is a graphite type colour over the base Matt black - my bad

Well I few places saying the standard is Matt black the Scorpio is grey at top black at bottom

Yeah, I've had a dig about and I agree, it's a sort of dark grey dimpled graphite effect over the black by the look of it
