Think im going to grab a Kinect adaptor now, while i dont use it much for motion controls I do use it for chat and video.

Nothing has been said about them giving them away for free this time has it like with the Xbox one S has it?

Why?

The system will downsample system wide for 1080p users. I don't have a 4K TV yet and I'm getting one.

Why do you doubt they will? They did for owners upgrading from XB1 to XB1S, I see no reason they wont do the same. They aren't Sony who seemingly give you the two fingers on every decision this generation.

To be honest Microsoft are in a bit of a mess due to exactly that. They kicked off this gen with a massive F you to their user base.

They have been far better since then however. Not sure what you mean by Sony tbh.

It makes sense for them to give away the kinect adapter as they did last time, but I suppose it depends upon their future plans for it as well as how well the system launch is received. If they have to drop the price relatively quickly is it possible it could be something to soften the blow for early adopters? (like the 3DS ambassador thing)

The Kinect is dead in the water according to MS, otherwise they would have kept the Kinect port on the back of the console. The free adapter was just a good will jester, abit like Apple including the headphone adapter in their current iPhone to get everyone off the legacy device over to the current model.

Anyone who has purchased a Xbox One over the last few years wouldn't of been the Kinect SKU, the install base now would be very small. It wouldn't make business sense to give it away for free. So if anyone still wants to use their Kinect with the Xbox One X then option is always there to buy the adapter from MS.

Smaller the install base lower the cost though, only early adopters like me have them.
On the Xbox One S they wanted the serial numbers of the old xbox new xbox and the Kinect to prove you had them.

I may buy one anyway they are £30 right now and even if i get a free one you can use it to connect my other kinect to my PC.

Interesting report that X1X has already outsold PS4 Pro entire year sales on Amazon US if true. Would certainly shine a different light on the 'minimal manufacturing run' view. Certainly good for both X1X and PS4 Pro with a larger 4K market likely to drive investment into getting the best out of top end console games rather than basic checkerboard slight of hand over standard versions.

I think 2018 will be a good year for Xbox sales, adding some much needed competition with PS4 is only a good thing.

Those figures are amazing if true (can't find any really solid source for that news though). I'd really have thought that the Pro would have put up more of a challenge, especially with the pretty solid Sony performance of late.

I had ordered mine with Amazon, but I've changed to Very as i got it for £363.99 for being a new customer, and the difference I've put towards Forza 7 and AC origins.

It does mean wait one day extra but for £90 is well worth it.
