I picked an x up today after buying a 4k TV over Xmas.
Big shout to Dr3dd for walking me through things after being so used to ps4/switch that I had no clue how to navigate around the xbox eco system.

Managed to squeeze a quick game of pubg in as well which runs much better than I expected to be honest. Came 10th and didn't even squeeze a round off!

Whats going on here then? This looks like some of the most severe isues I've ever seen. If so many people in a small subsection of users such as this forum are having dying XB1X's, how many people worldwide are having the problem, and why is it always MS and not Sony who have these problems to this magnitude. XB360 had loads of issues too, RROD's galore when they came out.

Not hearing about it from many at all etc...even Gaf havnt got much about it, not seeing it as big an issue so far.

I can't log in at all, it tells me to press the xbox button on the controller to log in but when I do nothing happens, is this a live issue or has my box just crapped out on me? I can't bring up the menu either

That’s the same issue my knackered console has, auto sign in works for my main account but my son can’t log into his account, just sits there spinning away.

Mine has been working fine since launch no issues at all and it’s very quite. Luck of the draw I suppose. My Pro has been replaced twice...

My 1 X has been working fine since day one.

The only time I hear it is during wolfenstein 2 when the fan ramps up every now and then. Does look luverly though!

I'm glad there are people out there who have found a reliable one, I haven't been quite so lucky, bearing in mind my old model is still going strong since 2014.

Nope game are terrible. I'd go direct to Microsoft instead.

I’ve heard they OK, it’s the easiest process to go to them first, do you have a Scorpio unit? If you do I would go the MS route, if not go to Game.

Not had issues with mine.

I assume people are giving their consoles good ventilation? They kick out 60°C+ from the back.

I just got mine and it doesn't make my ps4pro sound any louder/quieter. As long as it continues working I won't complain. Got mine from JL so hopefully I'm covered if things do go pear-shaped.

Have to say I am somewhat disappointed - had a whole weekend earmarked to get to grips with the new machine but instead spent all Saturday installing Forza 7 and the Halo compilation. It took what seemed like ages to install from disc, but then wouldn't let me play afterwards before then queuing up downloads of 60 and 20 GBs wtf?

I have a poor bb connection atm so I couldn't play anything on Saturday afternoon until hours later when it eventually said it was ready to play while the update continued. Never had this with my PS4. Forza looked awesome when it finally let me play on Sunday, but by god a 60 GB update will be painful to anyone not on fibre.

The updates are for the Scorpio enhancements. Every Scorpio enhanced game is like that.

I understand that, but I was surprised by the sheer size of them (Forza 7 is almost 100GB in storage!), but I thought I could play the standard game, immediately after install without the updates. What actually happened on game launch was that it said I had to update the game and then when I tried to play the game, it said it was updating.

It's just not the experience I expected. I hope other games will be much smaller otherwise I'm going to run out of space fast!
