I managed to suss it out in the end, there are two areas on the Xbox you can adjust mic monitoring.

It's not as bad as it sounds, it's very faint but just gives you enough feedback to know you're not yelling. It's instant feedback also, no delay, otherwise that would be highly annoying.

What did they update it for?

EDIT: It must be to do with the new graphics/performance option on the emulator. Does this mean they’ve found a way to override the original frame rate so that if you turn off all the X enhancements, you can play the 360 game at 720p60?

The Witcher 2 looks amazing... I really hope they apply these upgrades to more games and at a quicker rate, hopefully more with HDR too.

I would struggle to go back to the witcher 2 after 3 I think. I loved 2 at the time, but even then it felt somewhat clunky

Just had a bash on Forza Horizon and im very impressed with the boost in the visuals.

The Witcher 2 i never got around to playing so will give it a go soon but this vid gives a taste of the visual boost

I like having these older games as BC titles but Microsoft are charging silly money for digital versions on the store compared to Steam selling Witcher 2 for £2 in the sales.

Classic console digital pricing. Check cex, may get cheap physical copies but I bet they up the prices when these updates come out

The search is on for games that actually see a difference with this setting. Most will likely have a locked 30fps framerate.
