Return To Arkham: Batman Arkham Asylum remaster is yet another game which looks really good on X1X & has zero FPS issues. Arkham City however, does not look quite as good even though its a newer release. Asylum has pretty much all textures upgraded & much sharper than ever before plus the entire game lighting engine has been overhauled as well. It looks a lot different to the original but the overall look is not too bad at all. Water FX as well are very shiney with full game world reflection now. They have also added a lot of fake HDR light sources which spruce it up a bit. Loading times are also very fast now (25GB HD space required) most scenes load almost instantly. Not sure why this got so much bad PR when released its one of the better remaster projects I have seen (shame not coming to PC though it would look even better!!).

Look for the disc version both games for under £20 is a bargain they also have separate achievement lists so you can re-earn them all again!

Not worth taking the risk you lose your XBL account as well for the sake of a few pounds saved. Sooner or later this practice will be stopped its against the T&Cs. If they banned the MAC address you are stuck with a worthless console.

:confused: you are buying through xbox.com.

This has been going on for years, you have no basis for 'sooner or later' nonsense.

Stick to your expensive physical media luddite while I enjoy the cheap digital goodness :p
 
Gonna have to call up Xbox support my day one X fan noise is just to loud!

Soon as I boot up a game the fans spin up and it's very far from near silent it must have a problem.

To be honest it's been like it since I got it but its time to do something about it!

Hope support are good to deal with.
 
Certainly needs fixing, I never hear mine unless I shove my head right up into the cabinet.
 
MS will fix for you they had an entire batch of faulty fans go out apparently. Mine is only 2 weeks old & almost silent. You can hear a very low noise sometimes from the fan but its about 99.9% silent at all times even after gaming @ 4K for hours sitting a few inches away from the X1X it never seems to be noticeable during heavy gaming sessions the hybrid water cooling system is very good at its job.

Paid the BNPL for my XB1X off today as the term is almost up. So after 6 months begrudged handing over the money as I'm hardly using it still :D

It's a great system and playing red dead at the moment is great. May just keep hold of it to revisit older games spruced up as they could add some really great patches/old games soon
 
Finally took the plunge with Xbox One X full-time. Selling the expensive parts of my PC. Maybe some day I'll return, but 4k HDR with no constant game tweaking is what I'm embracing. Fair well PC Gaming, you were good but a right pain at times too.

Loving Forza Horizon 3 in HDR. Adjusting to Far Cry 5 @ 30fps, but with no stutters at all ever. Yeah I'm happy in the knowledge that all the hundreds of future gaming hours will be playing games and not tweaking them.
 
Hi all

I have a Project Scorpio and I have not played on it much until now. I have noticed its very loud at times and its filling the whole room with fan sound. I have been playing wolfenstein II and it just seems to ramp the fan up so fast all the time.

When I go back to the home screen the fans calm down. the console has only been on for 30 sec and it goes mad when playing the games and I have herd people saying there's are quiet.

could anyone tell me if this is normal ? as I have uploaded a video. the first 11 sec are on the dash and then after that I resume the game and the console has just been turned on for about 30 sec
oh the game is digital and theres loads of vent for the heat, I did notice the console does not get hot just sounds like a jet engine

Mine is the same, although at the dashboard it's silent. As soon as a game goes on (Gears 4 being a good example) then it ramps up like yours.
