Xbox Scorpio

I was going to wait but theres no point, tech is moving at such a drastically fast rate now its hardly worth waiting, everything is out of date by the time you buy anyway or something newer around the corner.

Depends if you're a consumer sheep :P I like to make my purchases last. If I'd bought 4K early last year I'd be sitting now trying to justify a HDR upgrade.

I'm going to sit it out til later this year while the relevant standards settle down...namely HDR and VFR, and more sources come online.

Well I always buy last years TV's myself, just got a B6, can't see much difference in this years 2017 models to justify paying nearly 2 times as much.

this years model just small improvements over 6 series, should have added HDMI 2.1 or allow upgrade at later date :(

6 series are becoming great value now, e6 now £1999 and b6 around £1500 mark :D

i'm still undecided, buy 6 series or wait for 8 for HDMI 2.1 but 8 series will cost £3000 :(

That's my issue my 4k set is hdr less and I can't justify an upgrade for just hdr:( even though it gets more anymore tempting when sales occur

Not all early adopters are sheep though, me for example, i bought a 2015 Sony Bravia 4k tv in 2016.
At the time is wasn't HDR ready, Sony updated it and now it is, guess i lucked out.
The reason i ended up with 4k isn't because of the resolution but the fact it's an android tv and i could install plex and kodi on it, ive got emulators on there for some retro games and loads of other apps,
also at the time of sale it was only £150 more than a 1080 with less features

A spanish website had listed the price of the scorpio as 399 euros before pulling the page. Be a dream if it was that price.

I would consider it a no brainier at £400. If the Switch is £300 and then £65 for a pro controller (which I consider essential) then £400 is a bargain.

I'm willing to go as high as £500.

The tech they've used in the Scorpio is not much more expensive than what they used in the PS4 Pro. Most of the speed/TFs comes from the clock boosts. Its just the extra memory and 4K drive more or less that costs extra.
