I have a 1TB SSD in my One X and an 8TB Xbox USB game drive. I just copy over what I’m currently playing plenty of room for 10 games. Will just carry on doing this with Series X. No real need for extra ssd space really.

Ah, so you have some experience with SSD <> HDD copying albeit at reduced speed. How long does it take to shift games from the HDD to the SSD?

Ordered myself a Series S from Amazon on launch day, much easier process than any of the other consoles. We have a good 1080p tv and don't plan on upgrading until it dies or OLED starts hitting around the £800 pricepoint, so 4k ouutput isn't a primary concern.
However, Gamepass Ultimate on the living room console, gaming PC and Android phone/tablet is a very tasty proposition.

This guy is not annoying like most other YouTubers. :p A quick look at the new gamepad and showing the SSD expansion cart being inserted/removed from the XSX.

This is what Im going to do, currently use my 2tb usb drive to play games from on my one x, and still have a ton of room on it. With the series X I will just use it for storage if need be, I tend to just delete stuff once finished or bored with anyway.

Tbh, I much prefer the series x storage solution. Just seems much more straight forward. Can totally see why they went this way.

how do you insert the PS5 expandable drive?

That expansion card is more expensive that i thought, but overclockers are currently selling a 1TB Seagate NVME gen 4 for £250.

I'll probably be ok without one, if not i'll put my MS points towards one.

It's not like i need to buy any games other than Cyberpunk & Dirt 5, having GamePass anyway.

Gen4 NVME is cutting edge atm and you're paying the price for it. Prices are going to plunge, I'll just wait until I can get a 2TB for 100 quid or so.

I completely agree. I'm the same. I have both standrad SSD and NVME in my tower and notice zero difference day to day.

Depends. MSFS 2020 is noticably faster to load on my NVMe equipped PC than the SATA SSD equipped machine (which has significantly more CPU/RAM). Also for dev work that thrashes out read and writes across bajillions of files contantly, NVMe is a big plus.

Reply from Smyths about my cancelled All Access X

"All customers who received a cancellation email for the Xox Series X has been contacted by Smyth's advising that an update email with more information will be sent at some point today."

I would have thought its more that Devs having fixed hardware, Velocity tech can utilize it more than with guess work in whats inside a PC.

They don't know what's going on TBH. I have a confirmed direct debit but nothing else. No confirmation email, no cancellation email.

Exact same situation here. Though I ordered a Series X from Smyths on All Access as well. Kinda thinking that was a moment of madness now. But there's a good 5 or 6 weeks left yet to make rhw decision over which to keep and which to cancel.

Did you not get an email with a special code so you could complete the order?

I had the code, then went through the order again, then got confirmation of pre order.
