So Smyths replied.

They've got a way to fix the problem (ish). Basically, they've reserved stock for everyone whose order was cancelled. And that stock is being held until Sunday at 5pm. But the order (and credit checks, etc.) needs to be done again, following the instructions in the email.

They're also sending everyone affected a £20 voucher as an apology, which is a nice touch.

Lets hope it sticks this time :)

I had the email walkthrough to re-order which went through fine, however i hadn't heard anything about the £20 voucher? Is that due in a separate email?

I would have thought its more that Devs having fixed hardware, Velocity tech can utilize it more than with guess work in whats inside a PC.
Exactly this, devs will be able to code specifically catering for the speeds with the velocity architecture and custom memory api's....off the shelf comparisons are pointless

I'd sort of assumed but not seen confirmed is FS2020 coming out on Series X and S and at launch ?

Never been confirmed yet as far as I'm aware, all they've ever said is "A later date" for console.
Personally I'd like to see how its runs/looks on Console as I'm planning a PC gaming build really just for FS2020

The thing is that they also have to code for Xbox versions without ssd and even pc’s that do not have SSD’s. I think other than increased speed in general actually writing specifically for the Series X/S “Velocity Architecture” might be an area that is somewhat lacking compared to Sony’s PS5 with only 1 version. They have to support so many different drive speeds and have a decent running game on all of them.

Ah, so you have some experience with SSD <> HDD copying albeit at reduced speed. How long does it take to shift games from the HDD to the SSD?

Depends on size of game really. I just set it to copy whilst I’m doing something else. Never found the speed to be an issue.

I wonder if they will put FO3 and Oblivion back on GP now. I'd like to play them conveniently upgraded a bit. Yes I know I can do on Pc but I cba with mods hence why I prefer consoles generally.

I too would love another go at these.

Playing such titles will tide me over until the new ones come out :)

One thing I’ve noticed about these older titles, Oblivion, Mass Effect, there is no complete edition or bundle to buy digitally. So if you choose to play via Game Pass or EA Play you still have to pay silly amounts for all the DLC. Way overpriced for such old games.

Yes I noticed similar when I had a One X briefly and I wanted the ME2 DLC, would have cost me more than the game did (I purchased the 360 disc for £4.)

Legacy DLC prices are nonsense. Where the DLC is important, it pretty much puts me off bothering with the base game.

I get it. Selling the DLC at high prices allows old used games to generate ongoing revenue. But please just offer a complete edition for those of us buying digital.

I was shot down for this earlier, but the fact people have bought these on credit with Klarna who have now confirmed it's a hard credit search just defies common sense. Societies "must have" culture needs to change, as that is utter madness...

You are assuming everyone who got it via that method couldn't afford it outright which is wrong. 0% apr means they aren't paying extra and a hard credit search has a negligible affect on your credit score if any. That said, I do agree that it's a dangerous habit to get into if you have no self control.
