Yeah I don't care for GT anymore, and I prefer arcade racers which is why I don't like FM.
Was unaware about the ultimate pack thing I'll have a look cheers.

I’m thinking about getting it for my series x. Only thing that concerns me is lack of 4K though.

You mean 4k input or the fact its not a 4k screen? If its the former its not such a deal on the xbox as it can output at 1440p by itself.

Ultimately the dell is better for the xbox as it has the 120hz VRR hdmi support for those who like high refresh rates, whilst the LG version is better for PS users as it can downscale 4k res to 1440p. I own both brand of consoles, and I am not really someone who is that bothered about high refresh rates, especially on console games, so I went with the LG.

What is something i always found silly about the monitor industry is the weird refresh rates used, 100hz seems a weird max limit, and 144hz never made sense at all. Apparently e.g. a lot of monitors cannot choose a 120hz VRR mode over display port. These consoles are really highlighting how bad the monitor sector has got as tv's are killing it.

The fact that it’s not a 4K screen.
The thing is I have a C9 oled in my living room which I could hook my series x up to if I really wanted to. But one is be fighting with the missus over the tv lol, she would want to watch it when I like to game ie evening and on the weekends, during the day etc.
Right now I haven’t connected it up, but in my room where my one x is, I have a 32” Samsung lcd screen. Nothing amazing in all honesty, it’s a 720p screen lol. So yeh it’s old as hell but it’s lasted me this long from brand new. Cost me £800 new I think. So the max size I could fit in my room is 32”.
But I haven’t seen anything that is catching my eye unless you have some recommendations?? At some point me and the missus will be moving out of my mums house and get a place of our own. Looking at some places at the moment and I have plans to make a man cave so probably at that time I’ll be looking to get a massive oled screen.

But right now I’m confused about which screen to get to tide me over till I get a bigger screen in an oled flavour.

lg have the 950b, 4k variant, but I expect that has the same weird 100hz limitation as their 850b.

In fact the 950b is even more limited O_o, the hdmi max refresh for VRR is 60hz.

Don't forget to factor in your viewing distance.

For the £280 nothing comes close, but of course there is that 4K compromise.

120 fps games don’t run at 4k anyway and I always prefer performance modes in games so I’m happy to have 1440p. I don’t notice the resolution drop as much as I notice the fps drop.

There are no HDMI 2.1 or decent HDR monitors so everything is a compromise anyway.

Anyone know if there's any stock for Xbox series X or PS5 anywhere in UK or best places to watch. Please let me know.

I had the same issue with a portable monitor, this video was a god send

Thanks, I did come across that originally. It fixed the resolution to 1440p, but still wouldn't pick things up like 4K, VRR etc. I think in my case its the cable, well, unless it happens again. That'll teach me to buy a cheap no brand cable from Amazon, not that there is a huge selection of 2.1 cables to begin with. Ultimately I'll need a longer cable so that I can route it better.

The console seems to have issues when powered up for a long time, I left lost oddysey running for about 24 hours, and I think before I started that session it was up for a day or two before it as well (for download). I had yesterday, I head a sound from obs, I checked it and the xbox was back on the dash, also animations on the dash were low framerate, lots of frames skipped. I relaunched the game, and it froze on launching, the dash still worked with its low framerate but the game wouldnt run. I rebooted the ocnsole and everything was normal again. A potential resource leak or something I expect.
