OK seriously WTF.

Do these controllers have a serious design flaw or have i just got unlucky (maybe its because i play racing games?)

i had to send the controller i got with the machine back for a replacement to MS because the right trigger started to get sticky/stuck, and so i ordered a second from Amazon as i wanted a 2nd anyway and it would tide me over and now that one from Amazon has started doing the exact same thing after a couple of weeks!!

No way I am buying a controller given all the issues been reported, plus its awarding a company for shoddy quality.

Microsoft keep refusing the advanced RMA for me saying they dont see anything wrong with their system of waiting 4 weeks.

Big batch of series x moving tonight - not sure where probably Argos or Currys but I'm guessing available to retail tomorrow morning - if there are any left after staff have their dibs :s

Ok I did the console factory reset, here is summary of experience.

I did move all games/apps from internal to external (except one's that have to be internal like settings), when I checked data it saved saved games were included.
I made a backup of settings to external storage.
I then unplugged external drives and did factory reset including wipe games/apps.

After it rebooted I plugged in the external drive again, but noticed all the way through setup I never had an option to restore settings, so sadly had to do everything manually to setup again.
I then noticed, the external drive wasnt been detected at all, but after a reboot it was showing normally.
After I reconfigured all settings etc. I moved the stuff I had on internal back on there, and noticed after was done was no save files.
I launched all 3 games I played, and thankfully all 3 synced saves from cloud storage. But a warning, it seems local backup of saves to external storage seems to get invalidated on a console reset.
Console stayed on the inssider program and I am still on the gamma firmware.
The missing 23 gig space is now recovered. I had 339 before the reset, 362 after.

Half expecting the trucks to get forced off the road and all the goods stolen at this rate.

My second replacement controller arrived this morning (3rd time lucky) and it seems to be acceptable - at last!

I hope my third Elite Series 2 is acceptable. Posted the second one off today.

It costs MS EUR 60 each time to ship the controller back and forth so it's in their best interests to fix the thing.

Is the 65inch Q80t still considered a good gaming TV? Don't want oled.

Yeah it's one of the decent budget choices for gaming. Not great HDR or panel uniformity, but then for the price you wouldn't expect that, and very good 120Hz and input lag performance.

Stouchi HDMI 2.1 Cable on the rainforest store i can confirm works on the Series X.
The lack of 2.1 certification on cables makes it a minefield at the moment and i know i didn't need the cable for my X.
But i needed one to test to see if a 2.1 cable lessens the slight audio delay between my CX and my Sony soundbar.
And it worked, at least when watching football, when a player hits the ball and is picked up by the mics, its in sync :D

@cyclonus10
going to ask a stupid question, but do MS not include a cable?
do you need a longer one?
or is it a higher cert cable you need?

Only had one 2.1 cable that came with the xbox and my sony soundbar doesn't passthrough the 2.1 signal and my soundbar has eARC as well as my LG CX.
Some people had reported that common LG tv audio sync issues with soundbars were solved with a 2.1 cable and i was lucky that it did solve the slight audio delay.
Can alter the delay on the CX but only in one direction, the wrong direction. The soundbar has no sync option.
The cable i bought is now plugged into the eARC hdmi port on my soundbar and fed into the eARC hdmi port on my tv.
I had a normal 2.0 cable doing the job but with a slight delay when it was used. My Sky HD box is using the HDMI in port on the soundbar.

Hi, I've bought the Series S model for my son's Xmas present. Can anyone recommend a 2TB external SSD drive for use with the S?.
For anyone currently using a SSD how is the performance in general?. Thanks.:)

Been using the Series X controller more and I'm starting to like the new shape. Especially useful for things like The Witcher when I need to mash the buttons. :p
