My last console was a 360 and just got a Series S as I’ve only got a 1080p plasma and I’m pretty blown away with the visuals and all the available games on game pass.

Only thing I’m finding frustrating is using a joypad after playing with keyboard and mouse on my PC for the last 10 years or so !!

Also got the 1tb drive as I had a £200 Argos voucher from work for working through COVID and couldn’t think of anything else I needed :D

Game Pass is amazing value, downloaded loads of games over the last 6 months. Played through A Way Out and World War Z with a friend and played Overcooked 2 and Streets Of Rage 4 with OH :D

I just buy the 12 month EA play pass which converts to 4 months ultimate, works out at about £5 for a month, if you get the ea pass in sale, then even cheaper. I think thats great value for what MS offer on the service.

Playing Empire of Sin atm new mob game on gamepass it's really good. I wish it had the 60fps mode though, can feel drops quite often.

I've had my SX since launch, how are people managing storage? The expansion card is stupidly expensive, I've read people are using last gen external storage drives to run previous gen games off of that are not optimized for series x, and use the internal storage for future series x games.

Is this the way to go?

My Series x storage is full up, but some of the games i have installed are not optimized for series x, so it is worth having them installed on a last gen external drive?

Also are the current SX logo games only fps unlocked? So they would lose no performance running off a external drive to?

I just don't want to fork out money for a next gen storage that currently has no real Series x games, i want to fill the internal storage with full Series x games before i think about upgrading.

I've got the standard storage on my Series X and the Expansion Card and tbh there is no difference between them. It was a little expensive but as someone stated a few pages back it's because of how small it is and only Seagate making currently hence the price.

I've also got a 2TB SSD external to add later on specifically for the older games so for storage i'm sorted.

Really keen to get an Xbox Series X once stock levels are up again. Definitely want one in time for the Flight Sim release in summer for sure. Excited to hear Hell Let Loose is coming to it as well! That is about the only game I play on my PC now so a fully fledged next gen console version with max graphics would be insanely good.

I moved over to PSN last gen due to PS4 being the way me and my friends went but missed Xbox Live. I am concerned to hear mics don't ship with the Xbox anymore though. Do people still chat on mic lots? That was always the big differentiator between Xbox Live and PSN. People on PSN rarely had mics but on XBL it was almost always the case players had mic in.

I will probably just get standard storage for the time being, game pass making it to easy to fill up storage. The only game i have that loads faster noticeably faster than last gen is GTA V, not sure if its because of storage performance or raw cpu power. GTA V also not a SX logo game yet.

Probably the best way to go, just didn't want to struggle for space and give up on the speed hence buying the official expansion card.

I used the Crucial SSD that I had been using in my PS4 Pro, I just needed a SATA to USB adaptor. Transfering games back and forward is incredibly fast. If you've got a drive spare I'd recommend getting a Sabrent USB 3.1 to SATA adaptor.

He might be referring to buying Brazil Gold codes and then converting to GPU. They were on HotUKDeals this past week for only £22 a year.

Yup, this is the method I was referring too. Needs a vpn to Brazil. The value is ridiculous. Tbh I’d happily pay full price and would still feel that I’m getting value.

Same here. The crucial worked out at the best value for a well known brand. I run plenty of games off it and loading times are lightning quick. All features like auto hdr and FPS boost work from it too.

Agreed, £11 a month is good value, the VPN way is brilliant value. Game Pass has a great mix of games, yes there is some filler but has hours and hours of fun for all tastes.

Game Pass is ridiculously good value even at full price, especially with everything they've added to it recently and continue to add every month. Games like Outriders being on it on day one despite it not being an Xbox Studio title is great, it shows that MS are really pushing to give us great content for Game Pass regardless of who had made it. And with all the other rumours going around about all these indie titles coming (event on Friday 26th at 16:00) and Ubisoft possibly making it on us just brilliant for those of us that have Game Pass. I honestly don't know how Sony are going to compete.
